Philadelphia Eagles Have Their Best Shot at Going Undefeated in 2011

Frank PassalacquaJun 8, 2011

If you've seen the Philadelphia Eagles' schedule for the 2011-12 season, then this topic isn't so over the top.

Looking at each of the teams and the match-ups, the Eagles only real legitimate opponents are the New England Patriots in Week 12 and the New York Jets in Week 15.

However, the Chicago Bears and the Atlanta Falcons will certainly give them a good run for their money, but a defeat isn't inevitable.

Let's take a look at the NFC East, which consists of the Eagles, Giants, Cowboys, and Redskins

Eagles will easily go 2-0 against a struggling franchise in the Redskins, will go 2-0 against the panicked Giants, and most likely 2-0 against the Cowboys (banking the Eagles actually try in week 17).

That leaves 10 other games on the schedule, minus the Bears, Patriots, Jets, and Falcons.

So who is remaining? Well the Rams, 49ers, Bills, Dolphins, Seahawks, and Cardinals

The six teams combined only had 37 wins—which is a little over six win a season for six teams.

The Eagles are known for blowing a game at least once a year, so if they keep their cool together and play their best, they can easily have a 12-0 record.

Now for the Patriots. I think this game will be like last years situation against the Indianapolis Colts. Everyone picked Indy, but the Eagles rocked their socks and came out with a win.

So if the Eagles can pull off some magic, they can pull if off. It will certainly be a close game, but it will come down to the final play.

The Bears. For some reason, the Bears always beat the Eagles. It's always a close game, usually ending within 3-7 points. Like i said previously, if the Eagles play smart ball and keep that tough Chicago D guessing, they can take this one as well.

New York Jets. The Jets are also notorious for blowing a random game every once in a while. If the Jets play sloppy and have an off game, it could be a blowout, simply because that Jets offense always stalls.

Lastly, the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are a powerful team, powered by Matt Ryan, Roddy White, and now Julio Jones. The Eagles beat the Falcons 31-17 with back-up QB Kevin Kolb last season, so with Vick under center against his former team, I expect him to hold nothing back.

Well, here it is. The Eagles have a really good chance to go 16-0 in the 2011 season. Hard work and determination can all lead to the Eagles first undefeated season in the franchises history.
