Chicago White Sox: Forget Oney Guillen and Concentrate on the Comeback
One month ago today, the Chicago White Sox looked dead in the water.
Mired in a terrible opening month, the South-Siders were 10 games out and falling.
Wednesday night, the White Sox fell just short of cutting the distance between them and the Indians in half over the last 30 days.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Despite losing in extra innings in their series finale with Seattle, the White Sox looked primed to make up more ground on the division leaders. Chicago is now just six games off the pace, and has an Oakland club limping into town for a four-game series that gets underway tonight.
The Athletics have lost nine straight and have jettisoned manager Bob Geren. Bob Melvin will be at the helm for Oakland. Taking advantage of a struggling team is what Chicago should be focusing on, followed by winning a series at Minnesota before getting into the heart of their interleague schedule.
This being the home of the tweeting Guillens, however, distractions are bound to crop up.
Oney Guillen was at it again this week, igniting yet another controversy by criticizing the team's second-round drafting of Keenyn Walker with their first pick of the draft.
Chalk up another one to technology.
If this were twenty, heck, even ten years ago, this isn't even news, regardless of what this young man thinks or says. He is not an employee of the club (at least not anymore) and it should be obvious that he is not speaking for the organization.
All Oney would be guilty of is shooting off his mouth with some critical opinions. In the past, his opinion wouldn't be news, because no one is putting a microphone in front of the lad.
The media landscape today is vastly different. Oney has his own microphone and for some bizarre reason, he chooses to be completely irresponsible with it.
Oney Guillen is certainly entitled to his opinion, however misguided we think it may or may not be. However, to be aware of the reach of his Twitter account and to continue to draw attention to himself is just a little bit ignorant.
The guy has to know that his slips of the twits cause trouble for his father and draw negative attention to the team. Yet he does it anyway.
I don't see how you can blame Ozzie for Oney's brain cramps. It's not like Ozzie is holding his son up to a television camera and letting him spout off about his boss. If someone hasn't convinced Oney Guillen that tweeting all things White Sox is not a good idea, it's probably not going to happen.
Right now, both Guillen and GM Kenny Williams seem to just want this issue to die. I say, fine by me.
The White Sox should be concentrating on reeling in Cleveland, not hanging on to what the manager's kid is thinking on a daily basis.
