Fantasy Football's Week 8 "Dark Horses"

Football ManiaxsOct 23, 2008

By John Arias.

The season is at its midway point and it is time to make some tough decisions. It is getting even more apparent to start and find quality players to replace starters that are on a bye week, which lead to this week’s Dark Horses.

Deuce McAllister, RB, New Orleans Saints:
With Reggie Bush out 2-4 weeks after having surgery, McAllister will be getting the majority of the carries. McAllister is averaging 4.2 yards a carry and he is a great flex pick this week. Look for McAllister and the Saints offense to rely on the run this week against the Chargers who have one of the worst run defenses in the league.

Prediction: 19 carries for 118 yards and a touchdown.

in allowing 11 touchdown passes. Campbell is the only quarterback in the NFL not to have thrown an interception and has seven touchdown passes on the year. Look for that number to reach double digits after Sunday.

Prediction: 313 yards and three touchdowns.

Donnie Avery, WR, St. Louis Rams:
Do not look now, but the Rams have won two games and are on the rise in the NFC West. One reason for their success is the play of rookie receiver Donny Avery.  In his last four games, he has 15 receptions for 184 yards and one touchdown. His reception total has gone up each week and he finally managed to find the end zone on Sunday. He is a very good bye-week pick up as the Rams take on the Patriots.

Prediction: 6 receptions for 72 yards.

Derrick Mason, WR, Baltimore Ravens:
In his 12th season in the NFL, Mason continues to...
