Minnesota Vikings Free Agency: Wisdom in Age, McNabb Has Something to Offer
Donovan McNabb is 35 years old and his game showed significant decline last season. The Washington Redskins hold the right to keep, trade or release him and the prospect of trading a draft pick for him is very unpopular in Minnesota right now.
From my personal perspective, it would be unwise for any team to give up a draft pick for McNabb.
His history of injuries and his poor play from last season are huge concerns and should not be overlooked.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
So from the angle that he will be released, very likely, I would like to hone in on what makes him an interesting prospect for the Vikings.
Whether he can play injury-free, high-quality football for the Vikings is beside the point. He offers something of immense value—wisdom.
Through the years, he has played with younger quarterbacks behind him and was always willing to share his understanding of the game with them. And they learned well, enough so to become starters.
Obviously the Vikings have a rookie QB in Christian Ponder and a second-year player in Joe Webb who would benefit from having a strong seasoned perspective. McNabb has always been very prepared and willing to teach.
Aaron Rodgers, Daunte Culpepper and Steve Young will back up the theory that veteran leadership leads to success.
So for the sake of Ponder and his future in Minnesota, should the option become available, McNabb's presence would be a very positive thing.
