Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts – 6/1/11

Here’s a look at the unheralded fantasy baseball players who played well yesterday.

Philadelphia at Washington
Roger Bernadina went 2-for-4 with a run. John Lannan gave up one unearned run on four hits over 5.1 innings for the win. He’s now 3-5 with a 4.05 ERA.

Texas at Tampa Bay
Colby Lewis evened his record at 5-5 with a 3.48 ERA after striking out eight in eight scoreless innings. He allowed just four hits.

Chicago White Sox at Boston
Brent Lillibridge went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI to raise his average to .308. Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Houston at Chicago Cubs
Clint Barmes went 2-for-5. Jeff Keppinger went 2-for-4 with a run. Brett Myers gave up one run on three hits in six innings for the win.

New York Yankees at Oakland
Nick Swisher went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI (23). Coco Crisp went 2-for-3 with his 17th stolen base. David DeJesus went 2-for-4 with a run. Josh Willingham went 1-for-4 with a home run (10) and two RBI (37). A.J. Burnett gave up two runs on three hits with five strikeouts in seven innings to improve to 6-3 with a 3.86 ERA.

Baltimore at Seattle
J.J. Hardy went 2-for-4 with a home run. Jack Wilson went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Brian Matusz, yesterday’s streaming pitcher option, gave up one run on four hits in 5.2 innings, but got a no-decision.

Los Angeles Angels at Kansas City
Eric Hosmer went 2-for-4. The kid is ridiculously good. Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with a run. Tyler Chatwood gave up five hits in 7.2 scoreless innings. Felipe Paulino threw five scoreless innings. Neither starter factored into the decision.

Minnesota at Detroit

Jhonny Peralta went 2-for-4 to raise his average to .314. Drew Butera went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Rick Porcello gave up two runs in 6.2 innings to improve to 5-3 with a 3.79 ERA.

Milwaukee at Cincinnati
Nyger Morgan went 2-for-3 with a run. Yuniesky Betancourt went 2-for-4 with an RBI (19).

Cleveland at Toronto
Michael Brantley went 2-for-6 with two runs and an RBI (24) to raise his average to .289. Travis Buck went 2-for-5 with two runs. Matt LaPorta went 3-for-5 with two runs, a home run, and three RBI (26). Adam Everett went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Eric Thames went three for five with a run.

San Diego at Atlanta
Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 with two RBI (19). Chris Denorfia went 1-for-4 with two runs. Kyle Phillips went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

Pittsburgh at New York Mets
Matt Diaz went 2-for-3 with a run. Chris Snyder went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Lyle Overbay went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Xavier Paul went 2-for-2 with two RBI. Daniel Murphy went 2-for-4 with a run. Ruben Tejada went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Kevin Correia gave up two runs in six innings to improve to 8-4 with a 3.40 ERA.

Florida at Arizona
Ryan Roberts went 1-for-5 with a home run (8) and two RBI (24). Chris Coghlan went 2-for-5. John Buck went2-for-4 with a home run.

San Francisco at St. Louis
Freddy Sanchez went 3-for-6 with a run. Nate Schierholtz went 3-for-6 with two runs and two RBI. Cody Ross went 4-for-6 with a run and an RBI. Ryan Theriot went 2-for-4 with an RBI to raise his average to .303. Yadier Molina went 3-for-5 with a run to raise his average to .320. Daniel Descalso went 3-for-5 with two runs.

Colorado at Los Angeles Dodgers
Ubaldo Jimenez fired a four-hit shutout for his first win of the year. He struck out seven while lowering his ERA to 4.98. Seth Smith went 2-for-5 with a run.
