NFL Trade Rumors: Quarterbacks Headline Potential Trade Disasters
We're almost three months into the NFL lockout and almost no progress has been made. With no end in sight, that means that guys who would normally be on the move have to stick around. Whenever the lockout ends, you can expect teams to move quickly whether they're buyer or sellers, but those quick moves could end in disaster. Here's a few trades that could end ruining some seasons before they even start.
1. Kevin Kolb

Kolb was given the starting job for the Eagles and was eventually replaced for good by Michael Vick who enjoyed a resurgence while Kolb sat on the bench and stared. Of all the people on this list, Kolb is the most likely to be traded.
Kolb has been rumored to be headed anywhere from Arizona to Chicago to San Francisco, and all three of those teams could be calling once the lockout ends. However Kolb was just 2-3 in the five games he started at the beginning of last season, and Kolb's inconsistency became a problem for Andy Reid, who saw his Eagles as a contender. Kolb even threw three interceptions in the season finale against Dallas, who had one of the worst defensive secondaries last season.
2. Donovan McNabb

The only reason McNabb hasn't been traded or cut yet is because the lockout began before the Redskins had decided on what to do, but they definitely don't want him.
Rumors had him going to Minnesota and Arizona, with the Vikings at one point having considerable interest. The problem is McNabb is pretty much done as a QB. While the Redskins didn't give him much help, McNabb didn't help himself with more interceptions than TDs and a 58.3 completion percentage.
For the Vikings, this would be no different than it was last season with Brett Favre, an over-the-hill QB trying to make his last run at a Super Bowl.
3. Vince Young

When last season ended, the Titans made a surprising move by saying they'd trade Vince Young because he and head coach Jeff Fisher could no longer co-exist. Then Fisher left the Titans, leaving them in a bind as they had to decide on whether to apologize and warm up to Young and hope he doesn't leave or send him packing despite Fisher leaving.
While the Titans haven't made that move yet, there were rumors of Young going to Carolina, but the Panthers drafted Cam Newton so that won't happen now. Other rumors included Arizona and Minnesota.
Arizona would be a good destination as they have a decent running game to help Young. but that would have to be the focal point of their offense as Young hasn't been very successful when he's had to throw the ball often over the course of an entire season.
Minnesota would be renting Young at this point, considering they think of Christian Ponder as the quarterback of their future.
Right now there really isn't a place for Young except in Tennessee as Jake Locker isn't ready and Young may have caused too many off-the-field issues for anyone to go after him and think of him as their long-term solution.
4. Carson Palmer

Palmer has made a lot of demands to the Bengals the last couple of years and for the most part they've fallen on deaf ears. Despite that, they came into last season with high expectations, but they had a terrible season. Now Palmer wants out, and although the Bengals didn't take it seriously at first, they have to when the lockout ends as Palmer might continue to stay at home.
If the Bengals give into Palmer's trade demands, the Buffalo Bills could be a nice destination, but they're rebuilding as well, which means that Palmer would be moving from one losing team to another and that wouldn't be good for him or the Bills.
Miami might be another destination, but Palmer is just as likely to sink them with his inconsistency (20 interceptions last season) as he is to turn them into a playoff contender, and the Dolphins may not want to take that risk.
5. Reggie Bush
5 of 6
When the Saints drafted Mark Ingram in the first round of this year's draft, Reggie Bush expressed his anger (tweeting "It's been fun in New Orleans"). And although he later backed out on asking for a trade, the reality is he's owed $11.8 million next season, and the Saints want him to take a massive paycut. If he doesn't, then it's likely he will be traded.
There haven't been any real rumors of where Bush could land, but if he does get traded, it'll have to be a team with a need for a versatile outside back, as Bush hasn't shown that he can be a full-time back between the tackles and get the job done, as he's never had 600 rushing yards in a season or more than six rushing TDs in a season.
