Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye: Send in Your Official Predictions
Alright fight fans we are going to kick off our next Bleacher Report Boxing Community Official Prediction Collaboration piece once again which this time we will provide prizes to two winners.
We finally have the most meaningful and biggest heavyweight championship fight coming up since probably Mike Tyson vs Lennox Lewis, yes indeed we are talking about none other than the highly anticipated long awaited heavyweight unification match up of the IBF, IBO, WBO, and Ring Magazine lineal champion Wladimir Klitschko and WBA champion David Haye.
Klitschko who is of Ukrainian descent is also a rockstar in Germany and is highly regarded as the "man" of the heavyweight division holding the majority of the major title belts and more importantly being the Ring Magazine lineal champion. Wladimir has the most significant resume of the current elite of the division mostly due to the years of absence of his brother Vitali from the sport, who is now the current WBC heavyweight champion.
A few years ago Haye who hails from London was initially viewed as the savior of the heavyweight division moving up from cruiserweight where he was the Ring Magazine lineal champion holding the WBA, WBC, and WBO.
Many were hoping he would be the one to shake up the once "baddest man on the planet" division by providing exciting and entertaining heavyweight fights with his superior boxing skills, talent, and most of all speed to the dull sluggish division.
Haye was onto the right track as he impressively knocked out Monte Barrett in the 5th round, then right away took away the giant Nikolay Valuev's WBA title in a majority decision in Germany, where many considered Valuev to be protected by his adopted home country.
Haye then stopped former champion veteran John Ruiz in the 9th round in what was a decently exciting fight where Ruiz usually has been known to make fights extremely boring with his excessive holding style.
Haye then took on a highly criticized fight with Audley Harrison where many viewed it as an easy pay day for both fighters with a suspicious outcome, ultimately defending his title by third round stoppage.
Since then Haye has done everything from aggressively taunt both Klitschko brothers in the media to personal social networking sites such as YouTube and Twitter. Most vividly Haye was seen wearing a t-shirt with him decapitating both Klitschko brothers.
Through numerous months of negotiations and back and forth trash talking from Haye and both Klitschkos and several last minute cancellations much of the media and fans turned their views on Haye and started to view him as ducking the Klitschko brothers.
Fast forward to where we are now and we are about a month away from a signed contracted fight that will hopefully indeed take place July 2, 2011 in Hamburg, Germany. (KNOCK ON WOOD)
So finally now with the fight finalized and signed we will move on and invoke our Bleacher Report Boxing Community Official Prediction Collaboration Piece just as we did with our last highly successful collaboration piece: Manny Pacquiao vs Shane Mosley: Bleacher Report's Official Predictions
Who Is Eligible?
So again, just as we did in our previous collaboration official prediction articles as the boxing community leader, I will open up this collaboration official Klitschko/Haye prediction piece up to any featured columnist from any sports community here at Bleacher Report.
I will also open up the eligibility to any of the boxing community top ranked writers who are currently ranked in the top 15 rankings. They should be consistently contributing to the boxing community via contributing strong pieces and are consistently active in commenting on the boxing community articles.
If you are not currently ranked in the top 15 boxing writers rankings in the boxing community, then start writing and contributing articles to the boxing community right now and start climbing the ranks.
Requirements:
1. So again you must be a featured columnist of ANY sports community here at Bleacher Report.
2. If you are not a featured columnist at Bleacher Report, you must be a member of the boxing community and a writer in good standing and currently ranked in the top 15 boxing writing rankings in the boxing community. (If you are not currently ranked in the top 15 rankings, then get writing right now!)
3. You must have a real photo of yourself as your profile picture. (I explained this in the past why this is a must).
4. If you are a member of the boxing community you must successfully complete at least minimum one boxing writing idea assignment assigned by deputy editor Adam Hirshfield prior to submitting your official prediction statement. (We will confirm this)

6. If you would like to plug your individual sites or blogs go ahead and write verbatim how you would like it to read for example: "Jim Bob Featured Columnist, Jim Bob's Boxing Blog Editor".
Also if you would like to include links to previous Haye/Klitschko articles that would further break down or elaborate your prediction then definitely do so.
Prizes:
The two top predictions will win prizes. Meaning the two closest predictions to the actual result of this fight.
So if you are going for a decision you must include your actual score card as well for example such as: "Klitschko Unanimous Decision 118-110". Or if you are going for a KO then for example: "Haye KO/TKO Round 11".
If several of you select the same exact prediction then the two winners will be the first two to submit your predictions to me via email or private message.
If none of you predicts the exact result then the winners will be the two closest writers to the exact result.
The prizes this time will be Pacquiao/Mosley Fight T-shirts as seen in the photo to the right. Even though some may feel this fight did not exactly live up to the hype, a true fight fan would still be a big fan of both of these fighters especially in their respected primes more so. Also this is indeed the hardest looking fight shirt I have seen in a long time and I've seen them all.
On the back it has the date of the fight: May 7th, 2011. So for those of you who may need an alibi for that weekend this shirt will definitely come in handy.
So there you have it fight fans and boxing experts. Get your official prediction statements private messaged or emailed to me no later then June 25th and again the sooner the better since we will be awarding prizes to the correct exact prediction and if the are several of the same prediction the winner is the first to submit their prediction.
If there are any further questions/comments/concerns please feel free to contact me.
Best of luck to everyone. Lets show the world that we are once again boxing experts and win those bad ass Pacquiao/Mosley shirts!
