NFL Commercials: 10 Best Television Ads in NFL History
Commercials and NFL players. The two go together like macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. Both are a little awkward at first, but after some time, they are both extremely enjoyable.
After watching hours of commercials, I have found the 10 best commercials in NFL History. Some will make you laugh, while others might make you cry. If you do happen to cry, keep it to yourself because just like baseball, there is no crying in football.
10. Refs Are Important Too
1 of 10When talking about the NFL, we can't forget about the referees. This one is the best involving the men who call the game. It is simple, quick to the point and hilarious.
Although I'm sure this never happens, it does make you wonder when refs go to the bathroom during football games.
9. Brian Urlacher Is Really a Nerd
2 of 10Old Spice has put out some great commercials, but their Swagger series were some of the best. When you first hear the name Brian Urlacher, all you can do is laugh at the weak looking man holding the sword. Even though Urlacher is far from natural on the camera, he makes you laugh even though he clearly tells you that he is the only one laughing.
As a Packer fan, I will always picture Urlacher as a tiny, medieval crybaby. It just makes life easier.
8. I'm Batman
3 of 10It is never appropriate to make fun of concussions because they can be extremely serious. However, Snickers does a fantastic job in this commercial. You can see why asking the right questions are important when diagnosing an injury. Had the coach stopped after the first question, the problem would have never been found.
Snickers is famous for their commercials and this is their best football one. By the way, did you know that I really am batman?
7. Fom Birth to Stardom
4 of 10This was a great idea for a commercial. Nike does a great job at showing the progression of both these players. From LT running late to class to Polamalu jumping on a table, you really feel as if you are watching these two outstanding players grow up.
Who do you think the fetus was at the beginning of the commercial? If I had to guess, I would go with LT due to the major kicking taking place.
6. NFL's Tribute to You and Me
5 of 10The commercial starts off by showing the amazing athleticism of Reggie Bush. Just as you think you are just watching a commercial that will brag on how incredible the NFL is, the fans begin to show up. This is a great tribute to the fans.
Watch the commercial until the end because it will be the only time that the NFL thanks you.
5. Braylon Edwards Goes All Zen on Us
6 of 10Reebok did a whole NFL Fantasy File series involving a ton of players. It was extremely difficult to narrow it down to just one, but Braylon Edwards took the cake. This is clearly fake but looks like it could actually happen. I wonder how many kids tried this after seeing it on TV.
It is too bad this isn't real because Edwards can't catch that well with his eyes open. Maybe the Jets should really attempt the blindfold idea for him.
4. Peyton Manning Priceless Peptalk
7 of 10When Peyton Manning finally retires, I could see him starring in some with guys like Seth Rogan and Zach Galifianakis. He is incredibly funny and a joy to watch on the screen.
I don't know if there is a record for most commercials by one football player, but I'm pretty sure Peyton has it. This was one of his best.
3. Muscle Relaxant
8 of 10This commercial doesn't star any NFL players, but it is clearly about the NFL. I don't remember seeing this commercial on TV, but I've watched it at least 30 times, and it is still funny. Whoever thought of this commercial should get a pay raise right now.
This is the funniest commercial on this list, and I don't know if it would have been possible without the player touching the refs face or the two players cuddling on the sidelines. Classic.
2. Take a Hike Peyton
9 of 10MasterCard generally has some pretty humorous commercials, and this one is no exception. Once again Peyton Manning proves to be a star on camera. It is surprising how stupid Peyton can look on camera but be such a genius on the field.
It was a tough decision between the two Peyton commercials, but this one takes the cake. At least he lost to himself and not his brother.
1. Shawne Merriman and Steven Jackson Can Do Anything
10 of 10While watching this commercial, I felt like I was actually watching Braveheart. The music is perfect and you feel as if there is nothing Shawne Merriman and Steven Jackson can't do. The switch in main character is pure genius.
Nike has always produced fantastic commercials, but no commercial is quite like this one. This is clearly the best NFL commercial.
