Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Yes I know he is a fan favorite around here but I don't really care.
Randy Orton is the champion and he will stop at nothing to retain his championship even if it means inflicting serious punishment to his opponent.
Let's face facts here, "The Viper" is a MULTI-TIME World Champion. He defeated Christian for the title, in the ring, fair and square with a beautifully executed RKO.
He is cold, callous and staring into his soulless eyes sends shivers down your spine.
The defending champion has all the advantages going into the match and doesn't have to pin his challenger to retain his title.
You may think this could be the beginning of a "heel" turn for Christian. I say no way!
He is beloved by the "IWC" and Vince McMahon knows that. It seems far more interesting to have Orton as a bad guy, which he himself prefers and executes perfectly by the way, than Christian becoming just another boring mid-card villain.
Make no mistake about it folks, that is what I think of your precious Christian. A MAXIMUM two-time world champion for that not-so-hot WWE Superstar.
He has a strange-looking body, ugly ring attire and lacks that "IT" factor that made Edge so great and an 11-time champion.
Yeah yeah, I'm sure he's a real nice guy. So what? I want to see someone that brings in money.
Out of character for a bit...
Randy Orton is treacherous and not a fair player. You really think he will let some wannabe main-eventer take his place atop the mountain? Get real!
I don't want to say nasty things about a guy as popular as Christian, but after all I've seen and read of WWE, I just don't "feel" this character as I would a "Zack Ryder" or a "The Miz."
He is uninteresting. There I said it. He falls in the same category as Kofi Kingston. Upper mid-card at best.
You can play with Randy Orton's character so much easier too. He is just as great a "face" as he is a "heel". The crowd eats him all up and you cannot match this guy's pop unless you are John Cena and nowadays, with his Rock feud looming, that is debatable.
I would love for Orton to finally return to his evil ways and feud with Christian up until SummerSlam.
Only then could I ever expect Christian to win back the gold.
The "face" needs to chase the title a little longer. You can keep you little Captain Charisma, he has no chance in hell of winning on Sunday.
We will have a great match. I have no doubt. I'll give Christian that much. He gives us good matches but that's it.
My money is on Orton.
