La Familia: One of WWE's Greatest Stables

Recently, WWE has been set on using stables for some purpose or another, but as of late RAW's New Nexus and Smackdown's Corre have been less than effective.

The New Nexus currently consists of David Otunga, Micheal McGuillicutty, Mason Ryan, and the leader, CM Punk. The group has no major accolades as of now, though Punk and Ryan are set to face Kane and Big Show for the WWE Tag Team Titles.

The Corre consists now of Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, and Heath Slater. The Corre, while not being a very powerful group, has had some success. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater are Three-Time WWE Tag Team Champions- two of which, were won while members of The Corre. Wade Barrett is currently Intercontinental Champion. Not bad, but a far cry from the stables of past years.

People, as of late, have harkened back to The n.W.o, DX, The Four Horseman, and Evolution, when they think of great heel stables, but I say another stable can be added to that list of greats. I'm referring to La Familia.

Beginning in 2007, La Familia would come to consist of Edge, Vickie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, the team of Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder (Pre- Woo Woo Woo,) and Bam Neely.

Admittedly, some may not see this is a threatening group, but the success of the group cannot be denied.Success comparable to, if not exceeding other stables such as Evolution and The n.W.o, and this was around the time PG was coming into full effect, if it hadn't already.

La Familia had several accolades to it's name including Edge becoming WWE/World Heavyweight Champion, Chavo winning the ECW Championship, Hawkins and Ryder winning the WWE Tag Titles, and even Vickie winning the title of Miss WrestleMania. Among other things, the stable proved to be a dominant force on all three shows.

Aside from the gold they won, La Familia also exhibited power similar to past stables such as n.W.o and Evolution, with Vickie using that power to help the members of La Familia (mainly Edge,) at numerous times, which brings me to one of La Familia's biggest impacts in the WWE.

La Familia made Vickie one of the biggest heels in WWE today. It was at this time, Vickie not only began abusing her power to a sickening degree, but also the time she started using her infamous "Excuse Me," line.

La Familia also had the added effect of being great at getting heat. From costing CM Punk the ECW Championship to "Banishing" The Undertaker after a TLC Match for the WWE Championship, to Vickie and Edge's primal kissing, the group just couldn't help but be booed, and that's impressive for a PG Era group.

Add to that, the bringing of Hawkins and Ryder to the forefront of a major stable, and showing how capable in the ring Chavo could be (before he started jobbing to Hornswoggle,) is just another feather in the cap of this impressive group.

With many notable feuds and matches, La Familia proved to be an impressive force throughout the WWE, and to not list them among the greatest stables to be in a WWE is a crime against the accomplishments of the group.

So, the next time you think about the greatest heel stables in WWE, If you didn't before, I think you can add La Familia to that list.

Especially considering during this group we got our first glimpse of what would become one of the greatest catchphrases in recent memory. "Woo Woo Woo. You Know It."
