WWE Over the Limit 2011: Preview and Predictions
WWE's PPV Over the Limit is less than one week away. So far there are six matches on the card and they are as follows:
Rey Mysterio vs. R Truth
Kane and Big Show vs. Mason Ryan and CM Punk for the Tag Team Titles
Wade Barrett vs. Ezekiel Jackson for the Intercontinental Title
Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole in a Kiss My Foot Match
Randy Orton vs. Christian for the World Heavyweight Title
John Cena vs. The Miz for the WWE Title in an I Quit Match
The slides will cover not only a preview for the match, but what I think will happen, including who will win. This slideshow happens to be in the order that I think the matches will go as well.
Rey Mysterio vs. R Truth
1 of 7
This match initially wasn't supposed to happen. R Truth was supposed to fight John Morrison but then Morrison got hurt.
Mysterio and Truth's feud, which was supposed to happen during the summer, got jump started and is currently taking place.
The last couple of weeks, R Truth has been attacking Mysterio after Mysterio's matches. When they have a match, things will be different.
Truth will control most of the match until Mysterio hits the 619 out of nowhere for the win.
Winner: Mysterio
Why does Mysterio win? Mysterio wins because R Truth needs to stay angry. He needs to keep the feeling that Raw is a conspiracy. His anger will get worse with a loss.
On top of that, look for Morrison to be back around the time of the next PPV, which could turn this into a three-way feud.
Big Show and Kane vs Mason Ryan and CM Punk
2 of 7
The last couple of weeks have consisted of everyone from the New Nexus trying to beat down Kane and Big Show. They were never truly successful.
In this match, I see Kane and Big Show dominating. I feel Otunga and McGillicutty will try to get involved, but maybe someone will help Big Show and Kane. If someone saves them, I think it will be the returning Skip Sheffield.
Regardless of how the match goes down, I still see Kane and Big Show retaining their titles.
They are going to be champions for a little while longer and there is no need to take the titles off of them just yet. Double chokeslam for the victory.
Winners: Big Show and Kane
Wade Barrett vs. Ezekiel Jackson for the Intercontinental Title
3 of 7
The Corre recently beat down Ezekiel Jackson. Jackson tried to exact revenge last week on Smackdown and was beaten down by the Corre again. Barrett then challenged Jackson to a match for the Intercontinental Title.
This is a match that is harder for me to call. Jackson could easily pick up the win to keep people thinking that he is a monster. On the other hand, Barrett has the Corre on his side and is very likely to cheat to pick up the win.
In the end, it comes down to Barrett having two extra people at ringside with him. I also don't think that Ezekiel is ready for a title, but that never stopped Vince before. Winner after Wasteland, Wade Barrett.
Winner: Wade Barrett
Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole in a Kiss My Foot Match
4 of 7
I am officially tired of this feud. Let me make this as simple as possible: Michael Cole without Jack Swagger will lose to Jerry Lawler on Sunday.
Winner: Jerry Lawler
Hopefully this marks the end of this ridiculous feud and they can go back to being just commentators.
Randy Orton vs. Christian for the World Heavyweight Title
5 of 7
Five days after Christian won the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules, Randy Orton beat him for it. This shows me that the WWE has no faith in Christian.
The only thing that tempts me to say Christian can win is that fans have been loud when speaking of how much they want Christian as champion.
Smackdown ratings have declined and that just might make Vince pull the plug and make Christian champion again.
However, it won't happen this soon. Randy Orton will retain after he delivers a devastating RKO.
Winner: Randy Orton
Look for this to be the match of the night, and it will be very hard to follow.
John Cena vs. the Miz in an I Quit Match for the WWE Title
6 of 7
Could there be an easier match to predict than the WWE Title match?
This should be a spotfest and I hope that no one gets hurt considering the last few times these had a match, there was an injury (Miz concussion) and a chance for an injury when Miz landed wrong after a suplex.
John Cena will win this match and both superstars will be on to bigger feuds (hopefully).
Winner:John Cena
I am hoping this sets up a feud with Cena and Alberto Del Rio that goes all throughout the summer.
End
7 of 7
In my predictions at Over the Limit, no titles change hands. Only 1 heel wins which is Barrett. If my predictions go as I expect them to go, it seems that it will be a predictable and pretty boring PPV.
A match could be added considering there is only six matches. If they add a match, I hope they add Alberto Del Rio.
Del Rio doesn't deserve to not be on a PPV, and to be honest, he has been one of the few bright spots on all the PPV's since his arrival.
WWE, find something to do with Del Rio this Sunday.
Leave a comment and let me know what you think of my predictions and tell me your predictions.
