WWE Mid-Week Wrestling Questions: Jericho, Angle, Russo, Ryder and KHARMA
I was looking through the poll responses from my Monday Night RAW article and reading the latest article from the Squared-Circle Jerk, and since this community seems to appreciate the format of my Monday articles, I figured I'd write a mid-week article posting a few of the questions which arose from today's reading:
- Would it have been better if Alberto Del Rio had won the title at Extreme Rules, even if he lost it to Randy Orton in short order, just like Christian had? Would it have hurt his rising star persona more to have that happen than to be without a match at Over The Limit?

- What would've been the difference if WWE had let Christian hold the World Heavyweight Championship for a few extra weeks and lost the belt at Over The Limit instead of a random match on SmackDown? Wouldn't Teddy Long look like less of a jerk in booking Christian's first title defense had he waited a few weeks?
- Is Zack Ryder ever going to get on television in a meaningful way, by which I don't mean interacting with John Cena for five seconds prior to Cena's big entrance? Wouldn't the United States Championship seem all the more important if they at least let him try and fail to gain it once a month? If they can use a not-so-popular Ted DiBiase like that against Daniel Bryan, why not let Zack Ryder at least fight Kofi on the third Monday of each month?
- Might Chavo Guerrero not only get a pay-per-view match at Over The Limit, but actually score a victory in the process? If he loses to Sin Cara now, doesn't that totally kill his credibility in what could be a two or three-month feud with some quality matches?
- Would you be shocked to see Chris Jericho take the route of Stacy Keibler and stay in Hollywood instead of returning to the ring? Some people are saying SmackDown is in some serious need of Y2-Saving.
- Shouldn't John Cena look more human leading into pay-per-views, or has any notion of him being human/beatable been basically thrown out the window to the point that you either like him or you don't?
- Do you care which direction kHARMa goes? Some people like seeing her destroy random Divas, some want her to either pick heels or faces to attack and some people just don't care about the Divas division regardless.
- Does the financial situation in WWE matter to you at all? The Squared-Circle Jerk made some interesting points as to why the reported earnings and such didn't matter as much for the first quarter as opposed to the second quarter, and while some people might not care what the shareholders think, the fact that some competitors could be released from their contract might affect what you think.
- Would you want to see Batista back in WWE? If so, where do you think he'd fit in?
- Do you care about the fact that TNA Wrestling is changing its name?
- Would you take the time to sit down and listen to Kurt Angle talk about the current state of that company if the video were free to watch but it took an hour of your time?
- Does TNA's history of legal trouble amongst its competitors affect whether or not you watch it?
- Is Vince Russo the one to blame for TNA's problems, even if he's encountering some roadblocks backstage and his scripts, infused with long-term vision, are routinely chopped up like is being reported?
- Are you tired of seeing Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler battle it out? A large, vocal portion of the WWE Universe is tired of seeing it, but maybe they're not the majority.
- Is Over The Limit looking like a pay-per-view you'd pay to watch? Not only is it not the quality of WrestleMania (obviously), but so far it's not even looking like we're getting a full card unless they throw some things together.
I'm sure this article isn't as interesting as my Monday or Friday recaps, since those actually give information in addition to my questions and analysis of things. But when I read articles sometimes my mind just wanders and wonders about various things, and I liken this article to sitting around with a bunch of my wrestling-fan friends and just picking their brain about how they view the current state of wrestling right now. It might be helpful if you read the article I'm talking about, which contains the various stories from this week in wrestling, but you certainly didn't have to have read it to get a basic idea of where I'm coming from.
If you don't like this article, I don't blame you. It's kind of a stream of consciousness, flow of questions, thinking/talking points. Discuss them if you'd like, noodle them for a while, consider them while watching the next wrestling show, respond to the author of the original article...it's up to you. Just please, if you're going to start swearing at me or calling me stupid or saying the article is pointless...you're welcome to keep your opinion to yourself, unless it's constructive.
