Toronto Maple Leafs Update: Domonic Moore, Game Time, Ian White to Be Traded?

Bleacher ReportOct 18, 2008

Ian White soon to be Ex-Maple Leaf?

The Maple Leafs have 10 defensemen this year (not including Luke Schenn) who could play in the NHL this season, and they have only six, possibly seven spots to fill. Ian White may be one of the players on the edge of being sent to the minors, being put on waivers, or maybe even getting traded.

With Schenn starting the year with the Leafs, Ian White has tried right wing. Still, however, the Maple Leafs have a pretty good first and second line, and OK third and fourth lines, meaning that no matter what the position, Ian White does not fit in.

Game Time

The Leafs faced off against the Montreal Canadians and the St. Louis Blues this week. Against the Habs, the Maple Leafs received their first regulation loss, as it was a 6-1 blowout by the Canadians.

Against the Blues, however, they played much better in a game they deserved to win. They had lots of shots, scoring chances, and great showings by the less talented players. It went all the way to a shootout, where the Blues took the victory.

This week: 0-1-1

Overall: 1-1-1

Dominic Moore

Dominic Moore is not a flashy player that scores a goal every game, but he always contributes whatever he can to the team. He is on the penalty kill, sometimes the power play, and he is constantly driving the net. Moore always creates plays and, once in a while, finishes them.

This year Moore has been off to an outstanding start with a goal. I liked him last year, but he has now become one of my favorites. Good luck to him this season.

This week I will not be able to publish Saturday Nights After the Buzzer because I will be away for the weekend.
