New York Yankees: No Longer Considering Posada Punishment, Issue Is Closed
According to WFAN's Sweeny Murti via Twitter, among others who cover the Yankees and have tweeted same, Jorge Posada and Brian Cashman spoke prior to tonight's game against the Red Sox and apologized.
"Posada apologized to Cashman pregame. Yankee brass accepts and agrees to no disciplinary action. Yanks consider the matter closed.

Posada knows he handled this the wrong way, that refusing to play was a mistake, one that was compounded by the inexplicable tweet by his wife Laura, claiming Jorge's back was giving him a problem.
Interestingly enough, all of her earlier tweets disappeared from her twitter page earlier today.
All of the top executives for the Yankees, namely Hank and Hal Steinbrenner, Randy Levine, Brian Cashman and Joe Girardi, have accepted Jorge's apology. Said Cashman:
""Jorge is a great Yankee...family members can have problems from time to time."
"
Derek Jeter, Posada's long time friend and teammate, had this to say:
""If he said he needed a day to clear his mind there's no need to apologize because I think everyone understands that," Jeter said. "Everyone here understands that sometimes, this game can be tough on you mentally. Everybody's struggled. Everybody's been in a position where things don't seem to be clicking the right way. If that's the reason he came out, then he doesn't need to apologize. If it was something else, then yeah, but not for that."
"
If his apologies are good enough for everyone on the Yankee payroll, are they good enough for the Yankee faithful? Chances are that the fans will be split, with one side welcoming Posada back, while the other either boos him or ignores the fact that he's even in the game.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what the fans do.
Jorge Posada is going to be a Yankee until the end of the season. Love him or hate him, he's entitled to have a bad day and make a bad decision.
