Here’s a look at the unheralded fantasy baseball players who played well yesterday.
Florida at Washington
Anibal Sanchez fired another gem. He gave up three hits with nine strikeouts in eight scoreless innings to improve to 3-1 with a 2.90 ERA. He has hurled 15 scoreless innings in his past two starts. Logan Morrison, Greg Dobbs and Laynce Nix all went 2-for-4. Livan Hernandez gave up one run in seven innings, but took the loss.

Philadelphia at Atlanta
Martin Prado remained hot going 2-for-4 with a home run (six) and three RBI (27) to raise his average to .295. Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 with a run. Jair Jurrjens gave up three runs on three hits with six strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings to remain undefeated. He’s 5-0 with a 1.66 ERA. Joe Blanton gave up two runs with five strikeouts in five innings, but took the loss.
San Diego at Colorado
Brad Hawpe went 3-for-5 with three runs, a homer and two RBI. Cameron Maybin went 2-for-4 with two runs. Eric Patterson went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Ty Wiggington went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Chicago White Sox at Oakland
Coco Crisp went 2-for-5. Josh Willingham went 2-for-4 with a run. David DeJesus went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Kurt Suzuki went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Tyler Ross gave up two runs on six hits with eight strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings to improve to 3-2 with a 2.50 ERA.
New York Mets at Houston
Brett Wallace went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI to raise his average to .336. Bill Hall went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. J.A. Happ gave up two runs on five hits in six innings for the win.
Kansas City at Detroit
Scott Sizemore went 2-for-4 with a run. Jhonny Peralta went 2-for-3 with an RBI (22). Brad Penny gave up five hits in eight scoreless innings to improve to 4-3 with a 4.11 ERA.
Pittsburgh at Milwaukee
Mark Kotsay went 2-for-4 with a stolen base. Chris Narveson gave up one run on four hits with five strikeouts for the win.
Toronto at Minnesota
Yunel Escobar went 3-for-6 with two runs. Corey Patterson went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI to raise his average to .281. J.P. Arencibia went 2-for-5 with two runs, a homer and three RBI. Trevor Plouffe went 2-for-6 with a run. Michael Cuddyer went 3-for-5 with a home run. Danny Valencia went 2-for-4. Nick Blackburn gave up two earned runs with eight strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings, but got a no-decision.
Los Angeles Angels at Texas
Maicer Izturis went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI to raise his average to .331. Alberto Callaspo went 2-for-4 with two RBI (19) to raise his average to .314. Derek Holland gave up two runs in six innings, but got a no-decision.
St. Louis at Cincinnati
Scott Rolen went 2-for-4 with a run. Ramon Hernandez went 3-for-3 with two home runs. Johnny Cueto gave up three unearned runs on three hits with five strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings to improve to 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA.
Baltimore at Tampa Bay
Jake Fox went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Brad Bergesen threw a four-hit shutout. He struck out five Rays.
Arizona at Los Angeles Dodgers
Josh Collmenter gave up two hits in six scoreless innings to improve to 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA. Chad Billingsley threw a gem as well, but took the loss in this 1-0 pitchers’ duel.
Boston at New York Yankees
Josh Beckett struck out nine in six scoreless innings to improve to 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA. CC Sabathia got bombed.
San Francisco at Chicago Cubs
Darwin Barney went 2-for-3 to improve his average to .333. Ryan Vogelsong struck out seven in six scoreless innings to win this rain-shortened game. Doug Davis gave up one earned run with six strikeouts in five innings, but took the loss.
