NFL: The Top 5 Most Memorable Halftime Shows in NFL History

Andrew KulhaMay 10, 2011

Usually halftime in the NFL is the perfect time to go snag some food, grab a few cold ones or just stretch out your legs a little bit.

It is also a great time for all the drunk people to stand in line for hours to go to the bathroom. Honestly, how do they not realize that everybody is thinking the same thing they are!?

I digress…

Anyhow, sometimes halftime can be quite intriguing though, especially if there is some kind of show involved.

The NFL is not really known for putting on halftime shows except for the Super Bowl, but I have rounded up a few of them for you to watch, and of course unforgettable Super Bowl halftime moments.

Check out the top 5 most memorable halftime shows in NFL history:

5. The Rolling Stones Super Bowl

1 of 5

Honestly, I think The Rolling Stones are the best rock band known to mankind, so the fact that they played a Super Bowl halftime was pure awesomeness to me.

It should be noted though that I’m pretty sure that all of them were hammered drunk, and were shooting adrenaline and doing anything they could do to keep themselves alive.

I also think that Mick Jagger was holding the skin onto his face with rubber bands, but hey who am I to judge?

4. Wembley 2008

2 of 5

This can make the list purely for the fact that it is an NFL game in England, and this is honestly what they though Mardi Gras in New Orleans would be like?

Pathetic parade man, no beads!

3. Halftime Dog Show

3 of 5

I have a hard enough time getting my dog to shut up when I’m talking on the phone, or to just relax and stop barking at every dang leave that blows by the window, so let’s be honest this is impressive.

If you don’t enjoy watching animals do funny things than you are a bad person.

Who would have thought that Raiders nation liked puppies!

2. Black Eyed Peas Super Bowl

4 of 5

There is so much that you could say about this halftime show.

First of all- let’s address the quality of the Black Eyed Peas music: It sucks.

Okay, moving on from that!

Whether it was the flashing uniforms or the green light up alien people, this was definitely one of the most memorable halftime Super Bowl performances that I have ever seen.

One last thing, how does Slash show up in every performance ever!?

1. Janet Jackson "Wardrobe Malfunction"

5 of 5

Honestly, this halftime show changed the course of network television and censorship as we knew it!

It doesn’t get any more memorable than the good old “wardrobe malfunction” Super Bowl halftime show.

Beware: This video is rated for Mature Audiences only.
