Chapman's Game-Saving Play 😱

Fan, Friend, Partner In Crazy Alabama Crime

There is nothing like going to a football game with the people you care about the most.

There is also nothing like going to a football game and meeting new people that you would have probably never met had it not been for this occasion.

With the Ole Miss game coming up, there are statistics that need to be published, thoughts about the game that need to surface, and predictions about the game that have been made but need to be backed up.

However, this article has nothing to do with the upcoming Ole Miss game or the upcoming Missouri/Texas game. No, this article is about the times you have had at football games, basketball games, soccer games, lacrosse matches, or maybe even a badminton tournament.

(Hey, they consider it a sport in the Olympics so why not mention it here?)

One that is most memorable to me is the Alabama vs. Arkansas game in 2007. We had amazing seats. About 14 rows up on the 50 yard line. I was with my mom and my sister. The breeze was blowing and the sun was down. And for those that have ever been to Bryant Denny on a sunny day sitting on the East side you know this was a big deal.

We had Arkansas fans sitting in front of us and they were nice...until the game started getting close. Alabama and Arkansas went back and forth all throughout and when Arkansas was ahead they got a new aura of snottiness about them. My mom told me "That's it. It's over," as Arkansas gained a four point lead with 1:28 left in the fourth quarter.

I told her the game was not over until the clock said 0:00 and I was staying. And boy are we glad we did. There was nothing like getting to see Alabama make the game winning touchdown not once but twice with the people that I care about the most. That was one experience I will never forget.

Never take for granted the times you get to spend with family and friends watching sporting events or doing anything else for that matter. As GrayGhost said once...You never know when it will be an "Empty Chair" sitting next to you.

I'm interested to hear about some of the memories you have.
