WWE News: John Morrison Injured, Will Need Surgery and Time Off

George NolanMay 9, 2011

This might come across as bad news for those anticipating an R-Truth/John Morrison match for Over the Limit. According to news sources at PW Torch, Wrestling News Source and TWNPNews, Morrison has suffered an injury and will require some time off to get surgery on his neck.

Morrison confirmed this news on his Twitter account earlier today, posting this:

"

"I'm about to get an operation to fix my neck - I will return, (R-Truth)."

I imagine this is going to be another setback for the WWE, having another one of its major superstars out of commission, and it leaves developments with R-Truth in a bind since his rivalry with Morrison had been building up for the past few weeks since his heel turn. It looks like the WWE will have to find someone else for R-Truth to feud with for the time being to keep his character relevant.

I think the next best thing they should pull for R-Truth with Morrison out of commission for now would be having him go for Kofi Kingston and his United States Championship.

Not only would it allow R-Truth to have another superstar to test his new heel persona on, but it would also give Kofi a new challenger for his title since the two have yet to confront one another in the ring, allow Kofi to get some more TV time and help make the US Title look more relevant with a major feud brewing between the two.

John Morrison is scheduled to appear on tonight's episode of Tough Enough that was filmed earlier in the year. I wish luck to Morrison in his surgery and recovery!
