WWE: Who Will Be The Undertaker's Final Opponent?

Joe M.May 8, 2011

News recently broke that The Undertaker is in much worse shape than most thought.  We all knew The Undertaker was getting up there in the age department, however most were under the impression that he would have at least one more year in him, if not more, as long as he worked his usual light schedule.

Now, we know that just getting WrestleMania 28 is a stretch.  Even if he does not have one match between now and then, there is still a chance The Undertaker will retire with a painfully uneven 19-0 WrestleMania record.

With WrestleMania 28 possibly being this future hall-of-famer's last match, it's fitting that we take a look at who The Undertaker can have his last dance with.

Read through, and remember to leave a comment below with your thoughts.

Sting

1 of 8

Is this incredibly unlikely?  Yes, but that doesn't mean there isn't an off-chance this dream match will happen.  This year we seemingly came closer than ever to seeing Sting make his WWE debut to face The Undertaker, maybe next year it'll actually materialize.

Triple H

2 of 8

This match is the most likely.  Most fans probably don't like the idea of having The Undertaker's final match be, well, a rematch, but that doesn't mean Triple H and The Undertaker wouldn't be able to have a great match and maybe even out-do their WrestleMania 27 classic.

Chris Jericho

3 of 8

Chris Jericho and The Undertaker are seasoned veterans and, aside from a match or two on Smackdown, we haven't really seen what these two can do in the ring when given the time and freedom they need to make something great happen.  Chris Jericho is a sure-fire future hall-of-famer and would be a great fit for The Undertaker's final opponent.

Alberto Del Rio

Doesn't this just make you cringe?  There is no doubt that the fans would not want to see Del Rio, who, quite frankly isn't even very over as a heel, write the last chapter in the legendary career of The Undertaker, but WWE is in the middle of a huge youth movement, making this match more likely than most would like.

Sheamus

5 of 8

This is on the list for one reason and one reason only.  I personally would love to see this match.  Given both Sheamus' look and size, and The Undertaker's gimmick and size, I think these two would be able to pull off an awesome match.  While Sheamus being The Undertaker's last ever opponent may not be the best thing ever, if The Undertaker retires before we see this match, I'm sure we'd be missing something that could be great.

Christian

6 of 8

Alberto Del Rio is all too likely, and the fans would hate it.  Christian, however, is all too unlikely, but the fans would love it.  Christian is a former World Heavyweight Champion, which gives him a shred of credibility as a main-eventer in WWE, however, even though the fans would love it, this isn't very likely at all.

Kane

7 of 8

A third WrestleMania match with Kane?  The fans may want something new, however, given the history between these two, you shouldn't disregard the possibility of The Undertaker and Kane facing off for a third time at WrestleMania.

The Miz

8 of 8

Once again, WWE's youth movement is a priority, so this match may happen.  The Miz, however, is much more over than Del Rio, and most fans would rather see The Undertaker vs. The Miz than The Undertaker vs. Alberto Del Rio.  That doesn't mean we want either of these guys to be The Undertaker's last opponent, though.
