Arsenal Will Not Be a Top 4 Team If Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri Leave
Should Fabregas and Nasri both leave Arsenal, it will be hard to see the team competing with the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham. In the last quarter of this season we already witnessed a struggle to win games and having undoubtedly the best two players leave, we could see Arsenal finishing outside the top four.
The Nasri situation is occurring as he is demanding the same pay wage as Fabregas; £110,000 that is. He also has made it clear he wants Arsene Wenger to spend this summer. However, paying a player like Nasri the same wage to put him in the same light as Wayne Rooney is a big move. Nasri had a bright spell at Arsenal this season which seemed to fade away during the closing stages. He is not a player who we have seen play a whole season at a top level.
Fabregas is Arsenal's diamond. He is the player who has won us games in the last few years. He is the player who makes others around him feel at ease, and with the loss of him this summer, next season could be tough indeed.
However if both were to leave, then I doubt Arsene Wenger would have the mind to sort out this situation...even with that great mind he beholds.
We saw in 2007, when Thierry Henry left, how the players advanced through team play and grew in confidence, however we still have not seen any trophies. And with the loss of the main midfield, the spine of Arsene could indeed be paralyzed unless we spend big. And I mean BIG. Millions big.
The games after the Carling Cup were depressing to watch. Players were so demotivated it even had its effect on me and the millions of fans around the world. We have already stressed as a community. Arsenal has to buy players such as Christopher Samba, Scott Parker and Leighton Baines should Clichy leave. However, as well as buying we cannot let our best players leave.
Arsenal already have players such as Denilson, Bentdner, Squillaci (hopefully) and Rosicky (again, hopefully) out of the club. And the added names of Fabregas and Nasri would destroy hopes of a top finish next year.
Lets just hope Arsene either has words OR money to get Nasri to stay. As for Fabregas, we can force him to stay as he is on contract, but I feel the manager will let him go after keeping him last year.
