Ted Dibiase: New Brand and New Role

Recently, RAW Superstar Ted Dibiase was drafted to SmackDown and recently debuted, defeating Daivari in a dark match.

The kicker here is that Ted debuted as a face.

Now, I don't have many details, but I'll assume Ted is probably still using "The Million Dollar Son" gimmick, so it'll be interesting to see how WWE uses Ted as a face.

While not tried before, I believe Ted could pull off a face character and still use his dad's gimmick. Instead of him being a rich jerk, have him be a rich nice guy. It shows a whole new side and even, to an extent, a new gimmick for Ted which he could use since flopping on RAW.

WWE could perhaps have him drop money from the ceiling on occasions, such as D'Angelo Dinero did as a face in TNA, as a way of signifying him turning over a new leaf or maybe team him up with Yoshi Tatsu to show no hard feelings about the story with Maryse.

As far as feuds go, I see one with Cody Rhodes in the near future. Cody could claim Ted has a superiority complex and that he always thought of himself better than Cody. (Then, of course, throw in the thought that everyone thought Ted was better than them.)

Cody could claim that he's the breakout star of Legacy (which is true in every sense of the word) and that Ted is welcome to stay, but that he'll be following Cody this time around (in a perceived thought that he was subordinate to Ted in Legacy, when, in actuality, they were both subordinate to Randy).

Ted could deny all of the above, but, after a bit of pushing, could finally tear into Cody about how he's lost it since he left Legacy. Throw in some barbs about maybe protecting the people from Cody's "Goons" (not sure what you call those guys handing out the paper bags) and you're golden for a feud between these two.

Now, I believe this is a feud Cody should win. Coming off a big feud that he kind of lost, Cody has to look strong, and at this point, Ted can take a dive. The point is, it's a good way to get Cody over as a real contender for a singles title, being that Ted is bigger and stronger than him, and Ted over as a face.

I'm not a fan of Ted myself, but I'll admit, he's got skill. Now we'll just have to wait and see if he can use it.
