Michael Vick: Five Reasons He Should Be the No. 1 Overall Fantasy Football Pick
Michael Vick got his career back on track in a big way last year. He received his break when Kevin Kolb suffered a concussion, and he never looked back.
Vick can be electrifying with his feet and dangerous with his arm. There is simply not another quarterback in the league that is on equal footing athletically.
There is a case to be made for Vick as the No. 1-overall selection in fantasy leagues.
Vick's Feet
1 of 6
Michael Vick ran the ball 100 times last year for 676 yards. That's 6.8 yards per carry for those of you keeping tabs at home. It's also 56.3 yards per game. Those are huge bonus points that no other quarterback is getting you.
Not to mention the career-high nine rushing touchdowns. There are numerous starting running backs that didn't get as many fantasy points as Vick had rushing alone.
Vick's Arm

Vick has always been able to run the football, but he unveiled a new skill last year: the ability to accurately pass the football.
Vick's career high in completion percentage prior to last year was 56.4 percent. His career high in passing yards was 2,936 yards, and that was in 15 games. His career high in touchdown passes was 20, and that came in 16 games. His highest passer rating was 81.6.
Last year he blew those marks away by completing 62.6 percent of his passes for 3,018 yards and 21 touchdowns...in 12 games. His passer rating was 100.2.
Vick's Weapons
3 of 6
Vick has as many lethal weapons to utilize on offense as any quarterback in the league.
LeSean McCoy is an explosive runner who is gifted at catching the ball out of the backfield. His 78 receptions last year helped Vick complete a high percentage of his passes.
DeSean Jackson's 22.5 yards per catch make him one of the most dangerous receivers in the league. He can score from anywhere at anytime.
Jeremy Maclin is a talented No. 2 receiver who led the team with 10 touchdowns and 45 first downs.
Brent Celek gives Vick a big target to work the middle of the field.

Week 3: 291 passing yards, three passing TDs, 30 rushing yards, rushing TD
Week 10: 333 passing yards, four passing TDs, 80 rushing yards, two rushing TDs
Week 12: 333 passing yards, two passing TDs, 44 rushing yards
Week 13: 302 passing yards, two passing TDs, 48 rushing yard, rushing TD
Week 14: 270 passing yards, two passing TDs, 16 rusing yards, rushing TD
Week 15: 242 passing yards, three passing TDs, 130 rushing yards, rushing TD
Vick went off in half of his 12 games. It's not like he didn't produce in those other six games, but with performances like this, he can single-handedly win fantasy matchups.
Vick's Team
5 of 6
With Kevin Kolb clearly the backup, assuming that he's not dealt whenever league operations are restored, Michael Vick gets to go into the season knowing he's the starter.
He will get more first-team reps, making him even more comfortable with the offense; that and the fact that he has another year with the Eagles under his belt.
He is more comfortable with Andy Reid. Andy Reid has a better idea of what Vick can do for him.
It's not often that a quarterback is in the discussion for the first-overall pick of fantasy football drafts, but not a lot of quarterbacks can do the things that Vick can do.
