Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool: 2011 Strikeout Kings Vol. 2

Some reasonably available players to assist you in the Strikeouts category. 

Realize that some of these will come with high ERAs and WHIPs, because if a Pitcher has low numbers in those categories and a good K total, they’re already spoken for.

Bud Norris, Houston Astros: Norris must have got the memo because he has pitched well in his past four starts.

He struck out 30 (10.52 K/9) over that stretch while going 2-0 with a 1.05 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. He has 43 Ks in 35-2/3 innings (10.85 K/9).

Bud is owned in 35 percent of Yahoo! and 25 percent of ESPN leagues.

Bartolo Colon, New York Yankees: Colon has gone 2-0 in his three starts with 20 strikeouts in 21-2/3 innings (8.31 K/9), a 2.49 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP.

On the year, he is 2-1 with 33 strikeouts (9.0 K/9), a 3.00 ERA, and a 1.09 WHIP. Bartolo is owned in 30 percent of Yahoo! and 40.9 percent of ESPN leagues.

Brandon Beachy, Atlanta Braves: Beachy has 19 strikeouts in 19 innings (9.0 K/9) in his past three starts with a 1.89 ERA and a 0.58 WHIP.
