Daily Market Wrap Up: Sox Look to Bounce Back

Dan FabrizioOct 14, 2008

Moving Today's Market

The Red Sox are looking to bounce back from yesterday's 9-1 beating at the hands of the Rays and tie the ALCS at 2-2. Boston sends knuckle-baller Time Wakefield to the mound against Tampa Bay's Andy Sonnastine. The Sox opened at Pinnacle as -163 favorites, but they are currently sitting at -136 while only receiving 45% of moneyline bets from the public. Despite this drastic change in the line, there have been no Betting System plays triggered from Sports Insights.

We've got five games on the ice as well. The most intrigueing match up in the Pennsylvania rivalry between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. The Penguins are loaded with young stars, and are among the conference favorites coming off last season's Stanley Cup Finals appearance. The Flyers made one of the most dramatic improvements last season, and look to build on that this season behind Mike Richards and Daniel Briere. The Pens are receiving 74% of moneyline bets and the line has moved in the direction you would expect. Pittsburgh opened at Pinnacle as -140 favorites and currently sit at -154. There have been a few Smart Money plays triggered on tonight's NHL action, including the Thrashers receiving a pair of them. Atlanta hosts Minnesota, which opened as -125 favorites at Pinnacle. The Wild are currently -113 favorites despite receiving 71% of the public bets. That movement has triggered a couple of Smart Money plays on Atlanta, including one from TradeSports (5-0, +8.30 units.)
