EXC: Seth Petruzelli on a Roller Coaster or Merry Go Round?

Dorothy WillisOct 12, 2008

After his amazing win, which some feel is the biggest upset in MMA history (mostly commentators, upset Kimbo fanboys and the uninformed), Seth Petruzelli would seem to be on the way up a "Rroller Coaster to Riches and Fame" in the Elite XC/CBS joint venture.

At least that is what I first expected would happen before Seth stepped onto the "Merry Go Round of Lies", or at least "half truths" depending on how one sees the statements made following his victory.

I hate to rehash the litany going around on all the fight sites and repeat the "Seth said" . . . "then Jared said" . . . "then Dana said" . . . and all the other "saids" which have become very annoying to me each time I have encountered them.

So I will just say that only Seth knows the truth of whether he was told something to encourage him to keep the fight with Kimbo standing up. To me it really does not matter.

He stomped on Kimbo and smothered the fad. That is what matters to me.

Hopefully all the "saids" on the merry go round will wind down soon and people will go back to reporting the homosexual rumors and reporting the toenail colors as he changes them and what he wears for Halloween this year.

And maybe Dana White will get caught up in defending the way he provides alcohol to fighters in training, (which I don't believe is in compliance with any state's commission on regulating sports, and stop pointing out how short and under whelming Seth's time in the UFC was.

Also it is just unacceptable behavior for a president of the UFC to act in such a manner when he professes to insisting that "his" fighters must be good representative of the sport of MMA and the UFC organization as well.

When a fighter who was in the UFC and is now facing stardom in another organization (even if it is run by the loathsome Shaws); why not say, "Yeah, Seth had a rough time with us but is on his way now," or "remember how I said that even BJ Penn, a Lightweight in the UFC could beat Kimbo up. Well even guys who failed with us can beat him, as Seth just proved."

But then, that just wouldn't be Dana now would it?

So whether Seth ends up at the reaching the pinnacle of the roller coaster and makes a name for himself, or stays on the merry go round of denial and yet some how manages to grab the gold ring, it would do my heart good to see him rewarded in some tangible way for ending Kimbo's knocking the tin cans of the pedestal with his fist win-streak.

Hey! You other guys started this analogy thing with the circus remarks and I am old and sly enough to take advantage of that, OK?
