What the Cubs should do this off season.
I'm not saying that I know everything and that I have all the answers. However I feel these are the things that the Cubs need to do. First of all resign Dempster to sure up the rotation, and then sign Wood. Then they need to get rid of Jason Marquis in my mind worst deal cubs ever did. Then use an in house replacement we don't need to go out and sign a pitcher. A lot of people that I have heard from are calling for C.C. but we really don't need him. In my ultimate world Rich Hill would return back to form in the 06 season and be the pitcher the cubs thought he would be. Imagine Zambrano, Harden, Dempster, Lilly, and the Hill of old. Then they need to sure up their bullpen. We went through all of last year with one lefty for the most part. Sitting out there now is Brian Fuentes imagine Fuentes, Marmol, and Wood. That would be one of the best if not they best back end of the bullpen. Next resign Johnson have him spilt time with Fukudome in center and make room to sign a right fielder. I have heard the cries for Bobby Abreu from what I have heard he is most likely going to resign with the Yankees so I would like to see Adam Dunn. He is 5 years younger still in his prime. Granted the strike outs will be a problem but he is a high risk high reward player. I think the Cubs have to sign Furcal. He is our lead off man and is the key to our line up. DeRosa is a spot player and have Theriot play 2nd. Say what you want about Theriot, but he always seems to get on base and is a great number 2 hitter. If all goes well this would be my lineup
1) Furcal SS
