Chicago White Sox @ New York Yankees

Philip Humber gave up one hit with five strikeouts in seven scoreless innings to improve to 2-2 with a 3.20 ERA. A.J. Burnett (eight IP, one run, three hits) pitched well but took the loss.

Washington Nationals @ Pittsburgh Pirates

Neil Walker went 2-for-4 with a run. Newly acquired Brandon Wood went 1-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Pedro Alvarez sat this one out, a likely scenario when the Pirates face lefties. Adam LaRoche went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Paul Maholm gave up two runs on four hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings for the win.



Los Angeles Dodgers @ Florida Marlins

Chris Coghlan went 3-for-4 with three runs, two homers and two RBI (13). He’s hitting .301. Jamey Carroll went 2-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Jerry Sands went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Ivan De Jesus went 2-for-4 with a run. Jon Garland gave up two runs on four hits over seven innings but got a no-decision.



Toronto Blue Jays @ Texas Rangers

Yunel Escobar went 2-for-5 with an RBI to raise his average to .286. Corey Patterson went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Juan Rivera went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer. Yorvit Torrealba went 2-for-4 with a homer.



Colorado Rockies @ Chicago Cubs

Kosuke Fukudome went 5-for-5 with a run to raise his average to .478. Darwin Barney went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Jeff Baker went 3-for-4 with a run. Marlon Byrd went 2-for-4.



Cincinnati Reds @ Milwaukee Brewers

Ryan Hanigan went 1-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Jonathan Lucroy went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Bronson Arroyo gave up one earned run in 6.1 innings to improve to 3-2 with a 3.64 ERA.



Philadelphia Phillies @ Arizona Diamondbacks

Placido Polanco went 2-for-4 to raise his average to .372, and Cliff Lee (seven IP, four runs) struck out 12, but Ian Kennedy’s three-hit, 10-strikeout shutout told the story.



Oakland A’s @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Howie Kendrick went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Coco Crisp went 3-for-4. Hideki Matsui went 2-for-4. Jered Weaver’s 10-strikeout shutout made him 6-0 with a 0.99 ERA.



Atlanta Braves @ San Diego Padres

Ryan Ludwick went 2-for-6 with two home runs and three RBI. Brad Hawpe went 2-for-5. Alex Gonzalez went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Derek Lowe, yesterday’s streaming pitcher option, gave up two runs with eight strikeouts in six innings, but got a no-decision.
