TNA Madness: Match by Match Results and the Winner Is...

Charlie GMay 5, 2011

Welcome, welcome!

Here, I have the full results for the entire TNA Madness: 32-Card Stud Tournament which started April 1 and concluded May 5.

This tournament was fun while it lasted and had plenty of loyal, weekly voters and for that I'd like to thank any and all who take part in voting in this tournament. Thank you!

This slideshow will reveal all the votes each wrestler received in each match they participated in.

The results for the final round in this tournament are also on this very slideshow.

AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle.

The winner of the TNA Madness: 32-Card Stud Tournament is...

Round 1 Matches and Results

1 of 44

The Round 1 matchups and results are as follows...

Hulk Hogan Bracket

2 of 44

The following matchups were contested in the Hulk Hogan Bracket.

Sting vs. Eric Young

3 of 44

Sting: 30 votes

Eric Young: 3 votes

I knew Sting would beat Eric Young in this round but at the same time, wouldn't have been surprised if Eric Young got the upset over Sting.

Sting is a bigger draw than EY and while Young does his comedy bits on iMPACT! I didn't expect him to get a lot of votes.

This matchup could've been closer but Eric would have had to dropped his comedy act.

Gunner vs. Rob Terry

4 of 44

Gunner: 18 votes

Rob Terry: 15 votes

This one was close, but it was the TV Champion, Gunner who would advance into Round 2.

I'm not all surprised that Gunner won. Actually, I wanted him to win over Terry, I'm a fan of Gunner's.

Both are big guys, both are in Immortal, both held the TV title. I'm sure Big Rob would have won had Gunner not been TV Champion.

Abyss vs. Hernandez

5 of 44

Hernandez: 17 votes

Abyss: 16 votes

I thought Abyss was going to advance over Hernandez to be honest. I like Abyss more than I like Hernandez, but Super Mex was too much.

This matchup was very close and either man could have won. In the end, the tie breaking vote went to Hernandez and he would advance into Round2.

Magnus vs. Jeff Hardy

6 of 44

Jeff Hardy: 20 votes

Magnus: 13 votes

I thought Jeff would be completely dominant over Magnus. I didn't expect Magnus to get as many votes as he did.

Most people who voted for Magnus said it was because of Jeff's personal issues. If Jeff never had those issues would he have blown Magnus away in votes?

Eric Bischoff Bracket

7 of 44

The following matchups were contested in the Eric Bischoff Bracket.

RVD vs. Brian Kendrick

8 of 44

Rob Van Dam: 28 votes

Brian Kendrick: 5 votes

RVD got an easy win over Kendrick. For Kendrick to beat RVD he would need a lot of changes.

He would need a heel turn, a gimmick change and to be on TV on a daily basis. I'm not at all surprised by the outcome.

James Storm vs. Jeff Jarrett

9 of 44

James Storm: 22 votes

Jeff Jarrett: 11 votes

Early in the first round Storm had a big lead. Soon enough, Jarrett made a big comeback and almost had first at one point. In the end Storm came out on top in a big way.

I thought this one would've been closer and I wouldn't've been surprised if "The King of the Mountain" reigned supreme. I was glad to see "Cowboy" James Storm win.

Kazarian vs. Matt Hardy

10 of 44

Kazarian: 28 votes

Matt Hardy: 5 votes

Kazarian is one of my favorites in TNA. I didn't expect him to get such a landslide victory over Matt Hardy though. Matt only had five votes. Five.

He had the same amount of votes as Brian Kendrick. This match was a big blow out with Kazarian advancing into Round 2.

Daniels vs. Amazing Red

11 of 44

Daniels: 30 votes

Amazing Red: 3 votes

Wow. The Fallen Angel dominated this one.

Week 1 of this tournament started the night after Daniels big return and Red wasn't seen on TV for a long time.

Both are good competitors but in the end Daniels won by a lot.

Dixie Carter Bracket

12 of 44

The following matchups were contested in Round 1 of the Dixie Carter Bracket.

AJ Styles vs. Tommy Dreamer

13 of 44

AJ Styles: 32 votes

Tommy Dreamer: 1 vote

Does AJ look worried about Tommy Dreamer in the picture on this slide? No.

Why should he be? Dreamer got one vote! There is no chance Tommy Dreamer can beat AJ Styles.

Samoa Joe vs. Robert Roode

14 of 44

Samoa Joe: 25 votes

Robert Roode: 8 votes

This looks like a good match on paper and can definitely be a good match in between the ropes. Two TNA originals. Samoa Joe dominated Roode in this round.

For Roode to have won he would've had to start a singles career and build on that. I expected this match to be a lot closer than it actually was.

Matt Morgan vs. Douglas Williams

15 of 44

Matt Morgan: 22 votes

Douglas Williams: 11 votes

At first this was a close match. Both men were either tied or down by just one vote. Sooner or later, Matt Morgan votes stormed in.

In given time, Williams became trapped in a hole, down by 11 and unable to comeback. It was very close at the beginning.

Bully Ray vs. Max Buck

16 of 44

Bully Ray: 16 votes

Max Buck: 17 votes

Max Buck pulled off the biggest upset in this entire tournament. I thought this match was an easy squash match for Bully Ray but, no! Max Buck won!

At first I didn't like the fact that Max Buck was beating Bully Ray.Then it grown on me and I loved it. I wanted Max to advance and see if he can pull off another upset in Round Two.

This maybe the closest match in the tournament but definitely the biggest upset in my eyes. What a pleasant surprise.

Ric Flair Bracket

17 of 44

The following matchups were contested in Round 1 in the Ric Flair Bracket.

Mr. Anderson vs. Jeremy Buck

18 of 44

Mr. Anderson: 32 votes

Jeremy Buck: 1 vote

This was a big blow out.

I expected Mr. Anderson to win but after seeing Jeremy's brother Max, I thought Jeremy would've brought in more votes than just one.

Mr. Anderson dominated Jeremy and would advance to Round Two.

Crimson vs. Jay Lethal

19 of 44

Crimson: 16 votes

Jay Lethal: 17 votes

This was another very close match in only the first round! Crimson and Lethal are still young and have bright futures ahead of them, in TNA or not.

I expected Crimson to win because everyone has such a deep interest in him but it was Lethal who defeated him.

The Pope vs. Robbie E

20 of 44

The Pope: 32 votes

Robbie E: 1 vote

No Robbie E fans? Only one? I like Robbie, but wouldn't expect him to get more votes than Pope. Actually, Robbie E almost had zero votes.

The person who picked for him voted on either the Wednesday or Thursday before Round 2 and I thought for sure Robbie would have zero votes.

At least he isn't the only guy to get only one vote though.

Kurt Angle vs. Murphy

21 of 44

Kurt Angle: 32 votes

Murphy: 1 vote

Murphy has the same story as Robbie E. Both almost got zero votes.

Angle would defeat Murphy easily here and does it surprise anybody? Kurt, see you in Round 2.

Round 2

22 of 44

Round 2

People still in Tournament:

Hogan Bracket: Sting, Gunner, Hernandez, Jeff Hardy

Bischoff Bracket: RVD, James Storm, Kazarian, Daniels

Hulk Hogan Bracket: Round 2

23 of 44

The following matchups were contested in Round 2 in the Hogan Bracket.

Sting vs. Hernandez

24 of 44

Sting: 29 votes

Hernandez: 9 votes

I expected Sting to win but would've liked it if Hernandez won and advanced.

Sting beat Hernandez badly in this one, by 20 votes. Hernandez had no chance. Sting goes onto Round Three.

Gunner vs. Jeff Hardy

25 of 44

Gunner: 14 votes

Jeff Hardy: 21 votes

Gunner got more votes than I was expecting. People must have really wanted Jeff gone, but even more people wanted Jeff to stay.

Seven people in this case. I didn't expect Gunner to beat Jeff but he had a good run in this tournament, especially when he hasn't been in TNA for a year yet.

Eric Bischoff Bracket: Round 2

26 of 44

The following match-ups were contested in the Eric Bischoff Bracket during Round 2.

RVD vs. Kazarian

27 of 44

RVD: 20 votes

Kazarian: 15 votes

I was cheering for Kazarian the whole time. He never once had the upper hand against Van Dam.

RVD was always ahead of Kazarian by a few votes. Nice and close finish. RVD would advance.

James Storm vs. Daniels

28 of 44

James Storm: 4 votes

Daniels: 31 votes

Daniels owned Storm this round. By a big 27 votes. I knew Daniels would win but not by that big of a margin!

Daniels would advance to fight RVD to see who wins the Bischoff Bracket.

Dixie Carter Bracket

29 of 44

The following matchups were contested in Round 2 of the Dixie Carter Bracket.

AJ Styles vs. Matt Morgan

30 of 44

AJ Styles: 29 votes

Matt Morgan: 6 votes

"Mr. TNA," "The Phenomenal One," AJ Styles beat "The Blueprint," "The DNA of TNA," Matt Morgan by 23 votes.

I expected this match to be close, maybe won by five votes or less but AJ blew Morgan away! AJ proves he is truly phenomenal as he defeated Matt Morgan by 23 votes.

Samoa Joe vs. Max Buck

31 of 44

Samoa Joe: 31 votes

Max Buck: 4 votes

Max can get an upset over Bully Ray but not Samoa Joe.

Ric Flair Bracket

32 of 44

The following match-ups were contested in Round 2 of the Ric Flair Bracket.

The Pope vs. Mr. Anderson

33 of 44

The Pope: 9 votes

Mr. Anderson: 26 votes

I thought this match would be a lot closer. How Pope only received nine votes, I don't know.

I imagined this match being back and forth and eventually won by a handful of votes. That's not the case because Anderson won by 17 votes.

Jay Lethal vs. Kurt Angle

34 of 44

Jay Lethal: 4 votes

Kurt Angle: 31 votes

I had no doubt that Kurt Angle would sweep Lethal. Angle is a veteran and Lethal is still young.

Kurt Angle would meet Mr. Anderson to determine the winner of the Flair Bracket next round.

Round 3

35 of 44

Round 3

Hogan Bracket: Sting vs. Jeff Hardy

Eric Bischoff Bracket: RVD vs. Daniels

Hulk Hogan Bracket Finals: Sting vs. Jeff Hardy

36 of 44

Sting: 20 votes

Jeff Hardy: 14 votes

I honestly thought Jeff Hardy was going to win the Hulk Hogan Bracket.

He lost by six to "The Icon" Sting. Sting would win the Hogan Bracket and challenge the winner of the Carter Bracket.

Eric Bischoff Bracket Finals: RVD vs. Daniels

37 of 44

RVD: 17 votes

Daniels: 18 votes

Both men are evenly matched in the ring. Both wrestle similar X Division style. One vote is all they needed to declare a winner.

This matchup was very close and either man could've won. It was Daniels who won and would challenge the winner of the Flair Bracket.

Dixie Carter Bracket Finals: AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe

38 of 44

AJ Styles: 32 votes

Samoa Joe: 2 votes

Amazing. Two TNA originals and AJ completely dominates Joe in the votes.

AJ won by 30 votes. That's crazy. AJ would win the Carter Bracket and challenge Sting for a spot in the Finals.

Ric Flair Bracket Finals: Mr. Anderson vs. Kurt Angle

39 of 44

Mr. Anderson: 10 votes

Kurt Angle: 24 votes

Another match that I thought would be close but was not. Angle beat Anderson, won the Flair Bracket and would challenge Daniels for a spot in the Finals.

Hogan Bracket vs. Carter Bracket: Sting vs. AJ Styles

41 of 44

Sting: 2 votes

AJ Styles: 20 votes

Sting came all this way and lost to "Mr. TNA" AJ Styles.

I predicted Styles in the Finals and I was right. AJ Styles will fight to win the TNA Madness: 32-Card Stud Tournament.

Bischoff Bracket vs. Flair Bracket: Daniels vs. Kurt Angle

42 of 44
