When Will TNA Stop Stealing WWE's Gimmicks?
Where Kurt Angle questions TNA's constant need for gimmick matches, I think the problem lies with TNA stealing the WWE's character gimmicks. Just watch a few minutes of iMPACT! and you'll see what I mean. Or just check out the current stolen gimmicks below.
Petey Williams
How in the world did he go from ripping off Scott Steiner, to becoming their version of The Master Piece? A couple months ago I was sure Chris Masters would arrive in TNA after his WWE release, as he's got the look and the potential, and my speculation was confirmed—only in a "slightly" smaller version. Petey Williams now comes out to Masters' music, does his posses and the only thing different is he's still walking around with Steiner's face.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Abyss
This is an interesting one as to me it looks that he was watching the Attitude era and saw a weird freak named Mankind and thought that that would be an awesome gimmick. And it was. Abyss has finally taken his Mankind like gimmick to a whole new level, and I think that his promos are one of the top three in wrestling right now.
Jay Lethal
This is an obvious one so no need to go into details. His rendition of the Macho Man is great and he's one of the most underutilized wrestlers in TNA.
Veterans
The whole veterans versus the new guys is just the WCW's Millionaires club. But TNA is letting it progress a whole lot slower, which it could mature very nicely.
Matt Morgan
While he's not stealing anyone's gimmick in the flesh, he is stealing someone's moves. He looks like he watched the best of the Undertaker DVD before he walks through the curtain. Morgan walks on the ropes like 'Taker among other moves. But at least he's trying to high flying moves, like the cross body of the top, to distinguish him from other big men.
Shark Boy
Forget how lame his gimmick is for anyone over the age of seven, his take on Stone Cold Steve Austin is forgettable. Yeah, he kinda sounds like him but he's so skinny and goofy it's laughable (and not in a good way).
Hector Guerrero
While the WWE is still hanging onto Eddie Guerrero via his widow, Hector is straight up stealing Eddie's sayings and mannerisms. And before anyone says that's his bro and that's how his whole family acts, take a look at Chavo. Yeah, he still says his catch phrases, but he doesn't try to do it in his voice and he doesn't do it in every promo. He still sounds like Chavo and the same can't be said for Hector.
Booker T
I'm not sure if this could be considered a steal since he's using his own gimmick. But it is weird how he switched from King of England to King of Scotland.
Lance Rock/Jimmy Rave
Now I must admit they haven't stolen anyone's gimmick from the WWE. But they did rip off the word lame in the dictionary. This is the one of the worst gimmicks...ever and I just had to take time out of my busy day to acknowledge it. Nice guy in person. Horrible gimmick on screen.
