MLB Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts April 19, 2011
Here’s a look at the unheralded fantasy baseball players who played well yesterday.
Chicago White Sox at Tampa Bay Rays
Sean Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Casey Kotchman went 2-for-3 as well. James Shields threw a complete game, allowing one run on four hits with nine strikeouts.
Minnesota Twins at Baltimore Orioles
Derrek Lee went 2-for-5 with a run. Matt Wieters went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI. Robert Andino went 3-for-3 with a run. Michael Cuddyer went 2-for-3. Jake Arrieta threw six scoreless innings for the win.
Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies
Yuniesky Betancourt went 2-for-5 with two runs. Randy Wolf threw six scoreless innings, allowing two hits with five strikeouts for the win.
New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays
Edwin Encarnacion went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI to raise his average to .286. Adam Lind went 2-for-5.
Arizona Diamondbacks at Cincinnati Reds
Ryan Roberts went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI. He’s hitting .382. Juan Miranda went 2-for-4.
Houston Astros at New York Mets
Angel Sanchez went 1-for-2 with a run and two RBI to raise his average to .308. J.R. Towles went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Wandy Rodriguez gave up one run on three hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings for the win.
Pittsburgh Pirates at Florida Marlins
Gaby Sanchez went 1-for-4 with two RBI. John Buck went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Emilio Bonifacio went 3-for-4 with a run. Josh Johnson was the story in this one though.
Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals
Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI (13) to raise his average to .361. He also stole two bases. Alcides Escobar went 2-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Michael Brantley went 3-for-4 to raise his average to .328. Lou Marson had two RBI. Bruce Chen gave up two runs on six hits with five strikeouts in seven innings to improve to 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA.
Los Angels Angels of Anaheim at Texas Rangers
Alberto Callaspo went 2-for-3 with four runs and two RBI. Mark Trumbo went 3-for-5 with two runs, a home run and four RBI. Hank Conger went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Peter Bourjos went 4-for-5 with three runs, a home run and four RBI as the bottom of the Angels lineup destroyed the Rangers.
Yorvit Torrealba went 2-for-4 with a home run. Mitch Moreland went 1-for-3 with two runs. Matt Palmer gave up one run on three hits over six innings for the win.
San Francisco Giants at Colorado Rockies
Freddy Sanchez went 2-for-5 with a run. Pat Burrell went 2-for-4. Dexter Fowler went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Boston Red Sox at Oakland A’s
Hideki Matsui went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Brett Anderson dominated the Red Sox. John Lackey—six innings, one run, four hits—actually pitched well.
Atlanta Braves at Los Angeles Dodgers
Martin Prado and Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 with two runs and a homer. Eric Hinske went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI. Brandon Beachy gave up two hits with seven strikeout in six innings to improve to 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA.
Detroit Tigers at Seattle Mariners
Milton Bradley drove in two runs to bring his RBI total to 10. Michael Saunders went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Brennan Boesch went 3-for-4 to raise his average to .333. Doug Fister gave up two runs with seven strikeouts in 6.1 innings for the win.
