LaDainian Tomlinson: Trade Him?! Are You Crazy?!
Yes. I did the unthinkable. I traded LT. It created a lot of buzz in my fantasy football league. I was the one who offered up the trade and I traded him for considerable value, I think. In the end, the move was as follows:
I receive: Joseph Addai, Santana Moss and Chad Johnson
I give: LT and Lee Evans

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Holding Steve Slaton, Maurice Jones-Drew and Justin Fargas at running back and Andre Johnson, Muhsin Muhammad, Brandon Stokley (just scooped him and dropped Eddie Royal) as well as Bobby Engram at wide receiver in a 12-team, three-WR, two-RB format, I think that the trade makes sense overall because I was lacking in the WR department but solid in the RB department.
Sure, it may be perceived as an over-reacting to another poor start by LT (Yes people, I am aware of how he finished off 2007!!), but in the long run, I get some solid contributions in both the WR and RB department instead of just depending on LT to carry my team. Of course, this trade does include several variables that will determine whether I am the better team in the end:
-Is T.J. Houshmandzadeh going to be traded in Cinci? If so, then does Ocho Cinco become the go to guy WITH DEFINITION this year? Will he return to his showboating, touchdown grabbing form for the remainder of the year regardless if Housh is there or not?
-After posting a goose egg against the Eagles, will other teams follow suit and absolutely blanket Moss and make Washington beat you in different ways? (BTW, mad love to his brother Sinorice Moss who had a great game week five)
-Will The O-Line return to form for Addai to get him going, especially with the brutal schedule coming ahead? (As an aside, when will Indy win at Lucas Oil Stadium this year?)
I have that feeling that in week 10 when KC walks into Qualcomm stadium after the Chargers' bye week, LT may explode for a big game and essentially let that game set the tone for the remainder of the year. (He did kill them for 177 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries last year in December) Will those stats come to fruition this year though? We will just have to wait and see.
