Week 5 of the college football season was simply amazing. There’s really no other way to put it. That being said, our picks were up and down and kind of all over the place. However, when it all shook out, it looks like we faired pretty well in this weeks edition of the Walker-Sports College Football Pick’em.
Alabama 41-Georgia 30: The Bulldogs dug themselves into an early hole and they never had a chance to recover. However, my pick to have Bama cover the 7 point spread was genus since they won outright.
Penn State 38 vs. Illinois 24: Once again, going with the underdog was the right choice. The line was set at a hefty 15 points. Illinois was able to do just enough to stay within in that, and get us to cover city. Also give us a little pat on the back for the tip on betting the over.
UNC 28 vs. Miami (Fl) 24: This was one of the best ACC games I have seen in a while. Unfortunately the Baby Canes came out on the short in of the stick, losing the game. That means they didn’t come close to covering the 8 point spread.
Oklahoma 35 vs. TCU 10: Ahh… what were we thinking. I guess all the early underdog picks got us a bit dog happy. The Sooners are red hot right now, and easily handled the 19 point spread.
Michigan 27 vs. Wisconsin 25: The Wolverines got back to their winning form. Too bad it was at our expense. Even if the Badgers could have pulled this game out, they would not have been able to cover the 6 point spread.
Duke 31 vs. Virginia 3: Virginia is the worst team in Division I football. They have now fallen into same group as WVU, never bet on them for anything.
