Bundesliga Matchday 7 :Bayern and Bremen disasters

Last year, if anyone remembers Bayern Munchen and Werder Bremen finished first and second in the bundesliga respectively...Well this year despite doing well in DFB Pokal ties and Champions League ties, both teams seem to  be missing in the top three in the league. Why is that?

Bayern have a new manager, Jurgen Klinsmann this year while Thomas Schaff is still Bremen head coach. Bayern's disasters began on Matchday 1, a draw at home to Hamburg. This was followed by a draw again at Dortmund, but this was due to the 23rd min sending off of underfire captain Mark van Bommel. Then came two wins against Hertha Berlin and Cologne respectively and everything seemed to be fine at the Allianz Arena. Bayern sat second in the table...Well then, how are they eleventh now? A 5-2 hammering by Bremen at the Arena followed by a 1-0 loss away to Hannover saw them go ninth. This week they drew AT HOME to BOCHUM..The match was theirs. Daniel van Buyten and Ze Roberto had won the match for them, the latter scoring twice. Bochum were 3-1 down, until Bayern conced TWO goals in the last 6 mins! Well things shoulde be changing at the Arena now. Most notably Bayern's strikers have notched up only 6 goals of the 15 they scored this season. Klinsmann can't demote Miroslav Klose on the bench as he has a tremendous work-rate but I do think that its time that Toni sees the bench and Podolski gets the nod.

Bremen won their last 3 games and drew twice in all competitions but apparently Stuttgart didn't look at it that way as Thomas Schaaf's men were humbled 4-1 by Stuttgart. This team is the highest scoring and by far the most attractive team in the Bundesliga. How can they fall like this? Well Bremen needs a good defender..Per Mertesacker's suspension could be the reason but they also conceded 4 to Hoffenheim. So what is wrong. Maybe it's time Bremen paid a little attention to the defence and give new signing Said Huseinovic the nod.

So, finally with these results in the Bundesliga, let's see whether Bremen and Bayern make it to the Champions league second round..only time will tell....
