The Indianapolis Colts: NFL Offseason Two-a-Days

Ryan FryeMar 1, 2011

5. The Colts Have a Pair of First Round Running Backs, but were 29th in the League in Rushing. Why?

The Colts have always been a team that passes first and runs second. Consequently, it shouldn't be a huge surprise that they ranked 29th in rushing.

The next thing is, the Colts' offensive line is a mess; an aging, injury-riddled line doesn't usually mix with success.

Lastly, they often played from behind in 2010. When you are behind, you naturally tend to pass the ball more and run it less.

4. Is Peyton Manning Still One of the NFL's Top Two Quarterbacks?

Yes.

At one point, Blair White was Manning's second target behind Reggie Wayne. So basically, Manning had Reggie Wayne, a bunch of low draft picks, (if not undrafted free agents) and no running game. I'm not sure that any quarterback could do any better than Peyton Manning did.

3. Is Reggie Wayne Still One of the Best Receivers in the NFL?

Look at the stats. Wayne had 111 receptions, six touchdowns and over 1,000 yards.

I've never thought Reggie Wayne has received the credit he deserves. His consistently amazing play makes him a Hall of Fame candidate. Yes, I said Reggie Wayne should be a Hall of Fame candidate following retirement.

Of course, you could argue he is a product of being on Peyton Manning's team.

2. What is the Colts' Top Priority in the Draft and/or Free Agency?

The previously mentioned offensive line would be Indianapolis' top need.

They badly need to replace Tony Ugoh, who just hasn't worked out as a first round pick. Gabe Carimi or Anthony Castanza are possible picks here.

A wide receiver is also needed to take pressure off Reggie Wayne. A speedster is ideal here, and TCU's Jeremy Kerley has been impressive.

1. Stock: Rising or Falling?

The Colts should improve from last year's record, since they had a crazy amount of injuries.

Who knows how much longer Peyton Manning has, but for now, the Colts' stock is rising.

This idea originated from ESPN's Mike & Mike.
