New York Yankees: Andrew Brackman Suffers Groin Injury
In the battle for a rotation spot, Andrew Brackman has jumped out ahead as the leading rookie candidate to win the job.
But he endured a slight setback today, after suffering a groin injury that will keep him out until at least Tuesday, according to Marc Carig of the Star-Ledger.
It may not sound serious but, with pitchers, groin injuries can become lingering problems. A pitcher's legs are extremely important to him; if he’s not 100 percent, the results just won’t be there.

“It’s not going to hurt me,” said Brackman, who added that the Yankees are simply taking the proper precautions. “But it couldn’t be a worse time.”
Right now, this isn’t a big problem. If it persists, it could cost him a rotation spot—at least at first.
Of course, we’ll have any updates as they happen.
