NFL Off-Season: Rex Ryan, Will You Shut Up Already?

Tony SantorsaFeb 24, 2011

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan loves talking to media. I'm pretty sure that's obvious now.

One of the things Ryan loves telling the media is his bold predictions. Well, he's at it again.

You might ask, "This early? The NFL Draft hasn't even happened yet."

In Indianapolis Thursday, Day 1 of the NFL Combine, Ryan made sure he filled his press conference with bold statements.

"I believe this is the year we're going to win the Super Bowl. I thought we'd win it the first two years, I guarantee we'll win it this year," Ryan told reports at Lukas Oil Stadium.

I understand that Ryan is confident, and wants his team to be confident. But seriously, this is getting old. Ryan and the Jets are nothing but ignorant, cocky and losers.

Yes, they're losers.

Ryan praised his team for making the "final four"  two years in a row. That's great and all, but a team in your division has won three Super Bowls in the last decade, and what have the Jets done? Nothing.

With Ryan making his bold predictions, like he's done every season, he went on to praise the New England Patriots.

"They're the AFC East division champions the last two years. So I would say, without question, we're behind them still."

I've got news for you Rex, the Patriots still have Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, and they're the youngest team in the NFL. The sky is the limit up in New England.
