Strikeforce's Josh Barnett Goes off on UFC President Dana White

John HeinisFeb 23, 2011

A few weeks ago, while discussing the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament, Dana White said “I highly doubt it,” in regards to whether or not Josh Barnett would be cleared to fight by any athletic commission.

White also had no problem admitting “I’m not a big Josh Barnett fan” and went on to say that “he’s bad for the sport.”

Barnett, who recently called White a “hindrance” on the sport for constantly acting “unprofessional,” upped the ante several notches with his heated response here.

"I'll definitely pass the test. Dana White's stature has changed quite a bit from a boxercise instructor. I'd be interested to see Dana White pass some drug tests."

Wow.

But Barnett wasn’t ready to stop there.

“I'll pass every test. I've already passed tests since then; I've passed tests before then.

"If [White] wants, I can come pee in his mouth and he can tell me if he tastes any Dianabol or anything like that.”

Yup. That really happened.

Barnett graciously closed with: “He might swing that way, you never know. He's so manly and hetero, maybe he wants to get real Spartan about things."

While this was just reported by bloodyelbow.com, as well as dozens of other MMA fighting sites yesterday, apparently both White and Barnett’s comments occurred prior to Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva.

Interestingly enough, during an interview on February 18th, White predicted that Barnett would win the tournament by beating Fabricio Werdum in the finals.

The last time White truly went off on Barnett was back in September of 2010, right around the time it was revealed that Chael Sonnen tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

White essentially said that he did not respect a fighter who tested positive for steroids three times, and then refused to ever admit his guilt.

The UFC President went on to say that he also hated Barnett’s “me-first” attitude and was disgusted by his lack of remorse for his role in bringing down the Affliction promotion.

The feud between these two has been ongoing since 2007, although it seems to have heated up ever since Barnett was signed to Strikeforce last year.

White also famously said that Barnett would never be a part of the UFC in January, although he said he would look into signing Barnett back in 2009 if he defeated Fedor Emelianenko
