How Would Walker Smith Do Against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao?

Troy SparksFeb 20, 2011

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are the top two boxers of interest that the world wants to see.  When one or both of them grow up, they will square off.

Do you think that either boxer could light a match to Walker Smith when he was in his prime?  I don't think so.

This guy fought over 200 times in his professional career and never lost an amateur fight.  He lost only once in 131 fights, which included two draws.

Walker Smith and Floyd Mayweather have something in common:  They stepped away from boxing only to come back and dominate their division.

Smith was a welterweight champion that was hard to beat.  He was named the best boxer ever by one media outlet and the first true pound-for-pound champ in my book.

I think that Smith will beat Mayweather and Pacquiao if he fought both of them today.  He was the showman in the ring before Muhammad Ali and beat some pretty good fighters in his day.

If Mayweather went on Facebook or Twitter and talked trash about Smith while they were training for their fight, Smith would have save that for the ring and knock Mayweather out in the first round.

Pacquiao and Smith would have been trading punches. Pacquiao have fast hands. That was the same thing they said about Smith.

It's a shame that Smith spent his last days in poverty. No one in boxing will never forget Walker Smith.

I would love to see a boxing match between Walker Smith and Floyd Mayweather or Walker Smith and Manny Pacquiao.

Neither Mayweather and Pacquiao will ever duplicate the accomplishments of Walker Smith. Maybe someone will read this and figure out who Walker Smith was.
