WWE Elimination Chamber: Predicting the Winners of Each Match

Joe M.Jun 7, 2018

WWE's go-home to WrestleMania pay-per-view, Elimination Chamber, is only a few days away.  The event is being headlined by two Elimination Chamber Matches, one for the World Heavyweight Championship (Smackdown) and the other to determine the number one contender for the WWE Championship (Raw).

The undercard is currently only two matches, however with two Elimination Chamber Matches, this cannot be a seven-match card.  There still is room for another match, though.

In this slideshow we'll look at each match, and who my pick for winner is.

As always, leave a comment, or send me an email at joe@wrestleslam.com

Alberto Del Rio vs. Kofi Kingston

1 of 4

How can Alberto Del Rio not win?

WWE has invested so much in Del Rio, and they simply cannot let his push fail.

Being that he is going into the biggest match of his career at WrestleMania, WWE needs to build him up, really push him as a top guy.

Not only will WWE put Alberto Del Rio over Kofi Kingston, but Del Rio has to bring his "A-Game"and put on a great match.

WWE Championship: The Miz (c) vs. Jerry Lawler

2 of 4

It's great that Jerry Lawler is getting a WWE Championship shot, and I have to say, I am looking forward a little bit to this match, but that doesn't change the fact that this is still pretty horrible booking.

I'm a Lawler fan, but his wrestling days are more-or-less over, and any match he has now, should be a novelty attraction, not a WWE Championship main event.

There is zero chance Lawler gets the WWE Championship, whether Alex Reilly or Michael Cole cost him the match, or The Miz goes over clear, there is no way The Miz is not walking out of Oakland the WWE Champion.

Raw Elimination Chamber

3 of 4

The first Elimination Chamber Match on the card is to determine the Number One Contender for the WWE Championship, meaning the winner goes onto main event WrestleMania.

In this match, we've got John Cena, Sheamus, Randy Orton, CM Punk, John Morrison, and R-Truth.

You can rule out R-Truth and John Morrison.  Even though Morrison is a great wrestler, WWE is not about to have him main event WrestleMania.

Randy Orton is doing a program with CM Punk, and one would assume that will carry to WrestleMania, so that rules them out.

Sheamus has been slowly fading out of the prominent Raw main event scene.  While he is still there and has a secure spot in the main event, the way he is currently being used doesn't exactly scream "I'm going to main event WrestleMania."

That leaves none other than John Cena, and that's who my pick is to win this match and go on to face The Miz at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship.

Smackdown Elimination Chamber

4 of 4

The final match on the card is the Smackdown Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Championship featuring Edge, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Kane, Rey Mysterio, and Wade Barrett.

While this is a high-profile match, it seems fairly obvious that Edge will win.

WWE has already began the Edge vs. Albero Del Rio World Heavyweight Championship feud, and it wouldn't make sense for them to take the belt off Edge and have the past few weeks of buildup go to waste.

And for that simple reason, I am going to call Edge as the winner of this match.
