At Wednesday's Dubai Championships, World No. 51ย Anna Chakvetadzeย collapsed on court while playingย first seed Caroline Wozniackiย and was forced to retire in the second to last match of the day. The match ended at 6-1, 3-5 when Chakvetadze had broken Wozniacki and began to sway then faint.

It has been reported that she had previously suffered from stomach issues before the match.

Wozniacki reacted saying, "It was a shock. It was scary. To see someone collapse on other side, itโ€™s not a nice sight. I just want to make sure she was OK."

Wozniacki playsย Ayumi Moritaย in the third round, who took out last week's championย Petra Kvitovaย on Tuesday.

In order to surpass the newย World No. 1 Kim Clijsters, Woz will need to make it to the semifinals by potentially having to take out ninth seedย Shahar Peer, who beat Alexandra Dulgheru, orย Yanina Wickmayer, who defeatedย Australian Open finalist Na Liย in a close match 6-7, 7-6, 6-2. All seeds remain in the draw except for Na and Kvitova.

On Thursday, viewers can look forward to a rematch of the longest pro women's matchย at four hours and 44 minutes long between third seedย Francesca Schiavoneย and 16th seedย Svetlana Kuznetsova. Schiavone ended her match quickly against Zhang Shuai 6-3, 6-1.

Kuznetsova beatย Tsvetana Pironkovaย 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Though Schiavone won their last meet up, Kuznetsova has been the runner-up in Dubai twice before and leads 8-5 when the two have met up previously.ย

Schiavone has no plans on breaking the record again saying, "I tell you, tomorrow, after two hours, I'm taking the racquet and putting it in the bag."
