NFL: Top 10 Most Entertaining Super Bowl Commercials Ever

Zack PumerantzJun 7, 2018

The Super Bowl is the only time of year when spending $5 million or more on a commercial comes remotely close to sensible.

National Football League fans love Super Bowl ads and many viewers watch just as much for the commercials as they do the game itself.

With the 2011 Super Bowl far over, now is the time to reminisce on its funniest commercials ever.  As the NFL fan dwells on this past season and, unlike a Green Bay Packers fan, weeps about his team's failure to win the championship, it is time to review the season that was.

Enjoy the top 10 most comical commercials.  The game may be over and legacies started, but for fans eager for off-season entertainment, this will have to suffice.  What a year it was.

10. Budweiser Frogs

1 of 10

While they lack the ability to produce real dialogue, these frogs are apparently beer connoisseurs... maybe not.

Budweiser doesn't crack the list as an elite beer, but this commercial still has its moment as a brainless and unique piece of entertainment.

9. Nationwide Insurance

2 of 10

Not only is this clever, it's actually smart.

Knowing nothing about this company, one can be attracted to the potential for "lifetime investment."  The burger guy seems to have aspirations and a vision, now all he needs is to invest.

8. The Simpsons Coca-Cola

3 of 10

The Simpsons never disappoint and this commercial somehow creates the thirst for cola.  Also seeing the happy community of Springfield puts a smile on ones face  Enjoy.

7. Betty White Snickers

4 of 10

There is nothing better than watching Golden Girl Betty White get leveled into the mud.

The Snickers commercial with Aretha Franklin tries to emulate this one but comes up very short as this is one of the better candy bar ads out there.  Well done Snickers.

6. Bud Light Meets Jackie Moon

5 of 10

Another commercial featuring a mediocre beer.  What makes this ad special is Will Ferrell's appearance as his introduces Jackie Moon, his character in Semi-Pro.

Something about his aura makes Ferrell hilarious even when he isn't saying anything funny.

Call it the Will Ferrell effect, the guy always seems to be wearing the smallest clothes possible.  The 70s hair is a nice touch as well.

5. MC Hammer Sells Cash 4 Gold

6 of 10

Seeing M.C. Hammer featured on this cash 4 gold commercial must be the most random appearance in commercial history.

It is obvious that he needs work, but who knew it was this bad?  Either way, he does a good job of being himself.

It's arguable whether selling or gold or being on a gold selling commercial is more desperate.  The latter wins.

4. Yo Yao

7 of 10

Yao Ming, despite his plethora of injury problems, is somewhat hilarious in this subtle display of New York City and ethnic differences that appear routinely.

It's not as political is it sounds.

This is a comical dialogue that ends with Yogi Berra... of course it would.

3. Talking Stain

8 of 10

This isn't far from the effect that a stain can have on ones confidence.

This guy seems doomed from the start because his potential employer can't seem to focus on anything other than the chatty stain.

Next time choose a different shirt.

2. Office Linebacker Terry Tate

9 of 10

It would be great if all offices ran like this... maybe not.

Either way, Terry Tate is helping his company focus, maybe nothing else works.  On the other hand, I don't know how many employees would survive this tackling machine.

Epic commercial.

1. Willie Nelson Advice Doll

10 of 10

It would be great if everyone had a Willie Nelson advice doll, most of us need that during tough times.

Only he would have the answers for former Major League Baseball coach Don Zimmer, as he makes a guest appearance.

This far surpasses the "easy" button.  Where can one of these be found?
