NBA: Valentine's Day Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts

Ryan LesterFeb 15, 2011

Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players who blew up the box score last night.

Dante Cunningham and Rudy Fernandez, Portland Trail Blazers
Cunningham scored 18 points (9-14 FG) with 13 rebounds, an assist, and two steals. The outburst came out of nowhere, but do note that he got the start.

Fernandez added 18 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 FT, 4-7 3PM) as well with three rebounds, an assist, and two steals. He’s averaging 16.0 points in his past five games.

Martell Webster and Luke Ridnour, Minnesota Timberwolves
Webster scored 17 points (5-10 FG, 3-4 FT, 4-5 3PM) with six rebounds and three assists. Nice return, but the Wolves swing player spots are totally inconsistent.

Ridnour added 16 points (6-13 FG, 1-1 FT, 3-5 3PM) with two rebounds, four assists, and a steal. He outplayed Johnny Flynn and it could be only a matter of time until he gets his starting job back.

Gerald Henderson and Nazr Mohammed, Charlotte Bobcats
Henderson scored 18 points (6-9 FG, 5-5 FT, 1-2 3PM) with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. He played 29 minutes in this one, and could be a plug-in option if he continues to have a decent bench role, but you’ll have to live with inconsistency.

Mohammed added 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-2 FT) with three rebounds, two assists, and a block. He can have an outburst like this from time to time, but is generally not a solid contributor.

DeJuan Blair, San Antonio Spurs
Blair was relatively quiet in this one, but he still managed a double-double. He finished with 10 points (2-6 FG, 6-8 FT) and 11 rebounds. DeJuan played just 27 minutes as the Spurs easily handled the Nets.

Jordan Farmar, New Jersey Nets
Farmar scored 10 points (4-11 FG, 2-3 3PM) with three rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. He’s nothing more than a plug-in play if you’re looking for a boost in assists at this point.

Marvin Williams, Atlanta Hawks
Williams scored 15 points (3-6 FG, 8-8 FT, 1-3 3PM) with eight rebounds, an assist, two steals, and a block. He’s averaging 10.5 points and 7.8 rebounds in his past four games.

Carlos Delfino and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Milwaukee Bucks
Delfino scored 26 points (9-15 FG, 1-2 FT, 7-10 3PM) with nine rebounds, two assists, and three steals. It was his second straight game with 20+ points.

Mbah a Moute added 13 points (3-4 FG, 7-8 FT) with ten rebounds, an assist, and a steal. He’s a bit too up and down for fantasy teams.

Courtney Lee and Chase Budinger, Houston Rockets
Lee scored 22 points (8-14 FG, 1-1 FT, 5-7 3PM) with six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. He’s rather inconsistent.

Budinger added 15 points (6-11 FG, 2-3 FT, 1-5 3PM) with six rebounds, two assists, and a steal. He’s far too unproductive to add.
