Bob Arum Pulls the Puppet Strings of Manny Pacquiao

Before Manny Pacquiao can take on Shane Mosley, his promoter, Bob Arum, already has the next fight lined up for his prizefighter.  I smell something fishy here in Pacquiao's camp.

With Arum pulling the puppet strings on Pacquiao, he controls his man.  And the pound-for-pound champ is going along with it.

I will give Leo Reyes credit for referencing the story from the Philippine publication.  I have yet to hear Pacquiao object to whom he wants to fight.

We know that Mosley is the next man up.  According to Arum, he can line up either Juan Manuel Marquez for their third meeting, Andre Berto or, can you believe this, Floyd Mayweather.

If Mayweather comes out right now and announces that he wants to fight Pacquiao after the Pac Man is done with Mosley, it doesn't matter after that about the order of opponents. 

A meeting with Mayweather is all Pacquiao needs to cement his legacy.  What else does he have to prove?  Giving Mosley a courtesy fight in May is like sparring with the old guy.

I will say that Mayweather is his own man and answers to no one, so he doesn't have a promoter.  No one is pulling his strings.

Marquez almost begged Pacquiao to fight him in the rubber match.  Their first meeting ended in a draw and Marquez thought he won the second fight.  If Mayweather isn't willing to throw his name into the ring, then make the Pacquiao-Marquez III fight happen.

I think that Berto will beat Pacquiao, so he should stay away from that guy.  Oh wait, that wouldn't register with Pacquiao because there's a guy who is squeezing his brain with the strings he's pulling.

What if Manny tells Arum that he will pick his next three opponents?

That would be scary.  If Manny gets the guts to stand up to Arum, then he better watch his pocketbook.
