Christina Aguilera: Will She Give National Anthem Second Try with AHL's Crunch?
This just in, literally, in my inbox.
The AHL's Syracuse Crunch, affiliate to the NHL's Anaheim Ducks, are known for being quite the creative bunch. The Crunch have extended an invitation to pop star Christina Aguilera to give the National Anthem another try.
After her not so perfect performance of the song during Super Bowl XLV this past Sunday in Dallas, TX, the super media-savvy front office at the Syracuse Crunch saw an opportunity to again shine the spotlight on their team in this, their latest media coup attempt.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In February of 2010, the Crunch were the first-ever AHL team to host their own Winter Classic. On a freezing cold Upstate NY Saturday afternoon, the Crunch pulled off quite an event at the NY State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. In addition to the first ever outdoor game by an AHL team, they also shattered the AHL's one-game attendance record of 20,672 with an amazing 21,508 fans in attendance.
The Crunch are touting their invitation as Aguilera's "Chance at Redemption" by inviting her to venture to the frigid cold of an Upstate NY February to sing our National Anthem within the friendly confines of the Syracuse War Memorial, home of the Syracuse Crunch.
While, at first blush, this seems like a smart idea, one has to wonder how these diehard (and dare I say very patriotic) Crunch fans would respond to Aguilera's presence in their house. When you spend the better part of five months fighting over 100 inches of snowfall annually, it certainly makes for some serious fans.
So here are the questions at this point: Will Aguilera take the Crunch up on their offer? Once she finds out what the weather is like here, will she change her mind? Yet the most intriguing question of all is, will the Crunch faithful welcome her with open arms, or will they have their snowballs packed and ready?
