Philadephia Eagles Offseason: Examining Free Agency Plan B
I've written several times lately on the need for the Eagles to go out and get some big free agents to help the defense this year. Nnamdi Asomugha is on top of almost everyone's list. We've discussed picking up Albert Haynesworth at length. Both would be great pickups. But let's consider the what-if scenario. What if we can't land either of these guys. Who else is out there that can help the defense? Let's look at the candidates for Plan B.
LaMaar Woodley
For some reason, Woodley seems already tied into the Steelers as a lifer. Coming off his rookie contract, Woodley is going to demand a fairly large contract. Being only 26 years old and improving every year, Woodley will be sought after on any team looking for an immediate upgrade at linebacker. Look for the Steelers to try to lock him up, but shockingly, they haven't finished this off earlier in the season. CBA aside, locking up your young talent is important. On the downside, Woodley would be switching from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3. The Eagles may not be his cup of tea.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Tamba Hali
Hali would be another solid pick-up for the Eagles. While not the dominating linebacker that many of us may want, Hali would provide a very high level of competition for the returning players. Again, coming from a 3-4 scheme, Hali may not like the switch. But he has played in a 4-3. Hali is a sack machine that would be a great addition to the Eagles defense.
Antonio Cromartie
Cromartie has his ups and downs. But if we lose out on the Asomugha sweepstakes, he's the next best thing. Cromartie has gotten better since being picked up by the Jets, and that can likely be attributed to playing next to Revis. Look for Cromartie to over value himself, but when the offers come rolling in, he may come back to earth. Picking up Cromartie, while not the home run that Asomugha would be, will be a good move for Howie Roseman and will certainly be more affordable.
Jason Babin
Former Eagle Babin will be looking around this year. With Jim Washburn coming to Philadelphia and the Titans struggling with direction, Babin may look to wear green again. The Eagles may be a bit heavy at defensive end at the moment, but having competition there will elevate everyone's game.
Others to Consider: Chad Greenway, Paul Posluszny, Brent Grimes, Dawan Landry, Roman Harper, Brodney Pool.
