Super Bowl XLV Predictions: Packers Win and Aaron Rodgers Is MVP

We asked several NFL bloggers to predict the score and the MVP of Super Bowl XLV. Of the NFL bloggers who responded, 64 percent predicted that the Packers will win their fourth Super Bowl.  The average prediction is that the Packers will beat the Steelers by 2.36 points with a final score of 24.81–22.44.  If you are a betting man, according to NFL bloggers we polled and the current Vegas odds, take the Steelers getting three points, the Packers moneyline, and Over 45.

The MVP predictions were probably the most interesting.  Out of the 36 predictions, 11 players came in on the MVP ballots, but Aaron Rodgers was the overwhelming favorite, garnering 15 out of the 36 predictions.  It is surprising to note that the Steeler most predicted to be MVP was the star runningback, Rashard Mendenhall, with four votes and not QB Ben Roethlisberger.  The Steelers and the Packers were two of the best defenses in the league and the MVP predictions fall in line, six out of the 11 players who were predicted to be Super Bowl MVP were defensive players.
