Andy Murray's Failures Are Website's Claim to Fame
Andy Murray's failure to win a Grand Slam is the subject of much conversation and criticism in the royal empire.
It's also the source of more than a bit of humor.
Parody website thespoof.com has had a field day with Murray's lack of success in winning majors, including his loss to Novak Djokovic in the finals of the Australian Open on Sunday. You can play around on the website by typing in his name in the search bar.
The website claimed Sunday that Murray woke up after the loss and entered the Melbourne convent "Our Lady of the Upper Respiratory Disease."
Previous headlines from the tournament included "Andy Murray Hallelujah? Or 75 More Years of Hurt?"
"Britain in Squeaky Bum Agony as Andy Murray Makes Oz Final!"
"Brit Murray outclassed by Serb Djokovic; Murray lost his balls, so what's new?"
"Andy Murray Wary of Opponent With So Many 'O's' In His Name," when Murray took on Alexandr Dologopolov.
There was also allegations that X-Factor winner, Susan Boyle, was Andy Murray's true mother. A statement was made:
"Obviously Andy will be devastated. Not only has he lost another Major Tennis Final, but to discover this news on the same day is hard to bear. Hopefully in the passing of time he will understand, and realise the signs were always there. They are Scottish obviously, the bristle-like wire hair, and the sideburns are all tell tale signs. The one positive in all this though is that she is quite a decent tennis player."
The humor site doesn't limit its daggers to Murray's back, however. Roger Federer, both Williams sisters, Rafael Nadal, Kim Clijsters and pretty much everything to do with Wimbledon are regularly made fun of.
