Philadelphia Eagles Eyeing Bears Secondary Coach To Fill Void at DC?
According to FOX Sports' Adam Caplan, the Eagles have requested permission to interview Chicago Bears secondary coach Jon Hoke for their vacant defensive coordinator job.
Before working with the Bears, Hoke spent the previous seven seasons coaching the defensive backs with the Houston Texans. Former Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson praised Hoke's teaching ability and credits him with his success in the NFL. Robinson is one of the top cornerbacks in all of football and signed a mega deal with the Atlanta Falcons last season.
Prior to that, he was the defensive coordinator/secondary coach for the Florida Gators, and was also an assistant coach for his last two seasons under Urban Meyer.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Hoke just finished his second season in charge of the Bears' secondary.
Hoke, 56, is considered one of the better defensive backs coach in the league and is credited with the major improvement in the Bears' secondary.
Opposing quarterbacks had a 74.4 passer rating against Chicago, good for third best in the league. The team's secondary also forced 21 interceptions, good for fifth best in the NFL.
The Eagles have not had a defensive coordinator for weeks and their method of waiting has not paid of yet.
It is likely the Eagles interview candidates from the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. The aforementioned squads are currently preparing for the Super Bowl.
In the end, it may be in the Eagles' best interest to hold off on Hoke. While he has found success, he is relatively unknown in premier circles around the NFL. Also, he has very little experience working under a legitimate defensive mastermind.
Hoke has never been a defensive coordinator and with other candidates like Winston Moss, Darren Perry, Mike Trgovac still out there, Hoke's interview may be more of a Dennis Allen interview.
They may just show interest him for other teams to take notice of Hoke.
Ultimately, do not expect the Eagles to actually hire him.
