Aaron Rodgers: 10 Reasons He's the Best QB Left in the Playoffs
Aaron Rodgers has led the Green Bay Packers from needing help to get into the playoffs to the NFC Championship game where he and the Packers will take on the rival Chicago Bears.
Rodgers has played amazing football and he's playing on a level we haven't seen from him in his short career. Inside are 10 reasons why he's the best quarterback left in the playoffs. If you agree or disagree, make sure to leave it in the comments.
No. 10: Staying Upright
1 of 10
One thing Aaron Rodgers has done is avoid holding on to the ball too long and taking a bad sack.
He's only been sacked four times in two games and that's the second least in the entire playoffs only to Mark Sanchez. Rodgers has been facing some pretty fierce pressure during these games and he's done a great job of adjusting.
It's been impressive to watch.
No. 9: Mistake Free
2 of 10
Aaron Rodgers has thrown a grand total of zero interceptions in this postseason.
He's thrown a lot of passes this postseason and to make zero mistakes once it leaves his hand is saying something about the level he's playing at right now. Rodgers is surgical with the ball and putting it in places where only his guys can make the play.
That's the mark of a true quarterback.
No. 8: Big Time Upsets
3 of 10
Aaron Rodgers has helped beat two favorites in the past two weeks.
At different points this year, both the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles were favorites to win the NFC while the Packers had scrapped and fought the last two weeks just to get a sixth seed and a playoff spot.
He's had the odds stacked against him and he's played well in response.
No. 7: Winning On The Road
4 of 10
In the past two weeks, Aaron Rodgers has gone into Philadelphia and Atlanta and walked away with victories.
That's not an easy task when you consider how tough of a place it is to play in Philadelphia and how successful Matt Ryan has been in Atlanta during his short career, only having lost twice in front of his home crowd.
Don't underestimate his ability to go into Chicago and get a win on Sunday.
No. 6: Momentum
5 of 10
Aaron Rodgers is in a groove right now.
He's been playing amazing football since coming back from his second concussion and has put on a clinic. Rodgers has just torched defenses in the playoffs and is a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators.
He's on a roll and I'm not sure anyone can stop him.
No. 5: Carrying Injury-Plagued Offense
6 of 10
Aaron Rodgers has lost so many weapons through the course of the year, it's amazing how well he's playing.
Ryan Grant and Jermichael Finley are both out of the lineup and have been for some time, yet Rodgers and that Green Bay offense is rolling. The quarterback has been the centerpiece of it all and has done a great job winning football games.
You can't say enough about the job he's done.
No. 4: Making Plays With His Legs
7 of 10
Aaron Rodgers isn't shy about pulling it down and running it.
Rodgers has been able to not only extend plays with his legs, but has even found the end zone by running the ball. It's been something to watch him feel the pressure and use his legs and his strength to keep the play alive and make the right read.
That's pure instinct.
No. 3: Airing It Out
8 of 10
Of the quarterbacks who made the playoffs, Aaron Rodgers is second in yards per attempt, Jay Cutler is first, but has played one less game than Rodgers.
Rodgers has been throwing downfield and he has been hitting guys all day long. He's gotten a lot of help from his wideouts, but his passes have been on the money. They're crisp throws right between the numbers and that's hard to stop.
He eats up large chunks of yards all game long through the air.
No. 2: Putting Points On The Board
9 of 10
Of all the quarterbacks remaining, Aaron Rodgers has compiled the most passing touchdowns.
Rodgers has six touchdowns, which is the second most in the playoffs overall behind Matt Hasselbeck of Seattle. Rodgers has been making the right reads at the right time and putting the ball in the right spot. He just knows how to get points.
He's almost been impossible to stop in the playoffs.
No. 1: Accuracy
10 of 10
Aaron Rodgers has completed almost 78 percent of his passes.
That's light-years ahead of the next person on the list and he's done it over two games. Rodgers has just been automatic when he drops back to pass. He is playing the best football of his life and might be unstoppable at this point.
When it leaves his hand, you better believe it's going to be on the money.
