Tom Brady Might Be an A-Hole, but He's Good...Real Good
Will teams never learn? Will players never learn?
I don’t think you can draw a correlation between opening your mouth, providing “bulletin board” material and then ultimately getting your ass kicked, but I’ll try.
Of course it doesn’t always happen. See Floyd Mayweather Jr. The man has made a living out of running his mouth and boasting about his talent, but he backs it up every single time.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Boxing is a bit different. It’s you and the other guy. You don’t need 10 other guys to perform in order to back up your words.
Recall the 2005 Division playoffs, when the over-confident Chicago Bears ran their mouths. Steve Smith took care of that with a monster game. Did the Bears' “talking” motivate him? Maybe a little, but if you need motivation to perform in the playoffs, you should just retire and go home.
So, Antonio Cromartie decided to open his mouth this week and call Tom Brady an a—hole. He probably is. I mean, look at the guy. But he’s also one hell of a quarterback and one of the best ever. Do you really want to add more fuel to his fire?
Recall a certain Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback in 2007, remember that guy? Anthony Smith guaranteed victory against New England in the regular season. Tom Brady proceeded to not only tear apart the Steelers, but he particularly went after Smith and made him look foolish on several plays.
You know how teams that have locked up playoff berths will start debating on whether to rest their starters at the end of the season? The Patriots don’t do that. They want to win every game 56-0. They not only want to defeat you, but they want to destroy you. They want you to remember how badly they kicked your team's ass up and down the field.
It’s what I love about that team, even though I root against them every chance I get. There’s something to be admired about a team that is focused on utter domination, especially when it pulls it off on a regular basis.
The last time the Jets played the Patriots, they were the victim of said utter domination, 45-3.
God help them this week.
